What are feeling for this test then?
I'm hoping England will play with the intensity they showed during the second half of the ABs game, but right off the bat.
If I cast my mind back to the summer, I remember them starting slow in the first test but then much better in the second, hoping for a repeat!

No idea what the score will be, I'm hoping England will do well in the scrum again, and improve their lineout and rucking. Australias backs are too talented to give them a solid attacking platform.
Luckily England don't seem in the habit of kicking the ball away, preferring to run, so we shouldn't see a massive amount of counterattacks from the Aussie back three (which is a good thing! :p )

Not expecting much in the way of changes for the team (which I believe is announced midday tomorrow) - I think Hartley may start at hooker, but thats it. I'd like to see a new centre in to replace either Hape or Tindall (Anthony Allen, or Waldouck if he's back from injury)

Haha, the thread was entitled "England vs New Zealand", I quickly changed the ***le, before I saw gingergenius' post.

Gah, i give up! :p

In other news, I just found that Kurtley Beale is only 21! I thought he was 30ish! Must be the moustache

It's true...I'll just leave it to Bullitt in the future :p

Anthony Allen playing for Tigers tomorrow so doubt he'll be in contention for a spot this weekend, hopefully Waldouck has recovered so he can get a run out

Please can we have:

1. Sheridan
2. Thompson
3. Cole
4. Lawes
5. Palmer
6. Croft
7. Moody
8. Easter
9. Youngs
10. Flood
11. Cueto
12. Waldouck (Hape isn't good enough)
13. Tindall
14. Ashton
15. Foden

16. Chuter (I hope Hartley's banned by next weekend)
17. Wilson
18. Attwood
19. Dowson
20. Care
21. don't care
22. Armitage

Very winnable.

Dubious about whether Moody's got the legs and fitness for this one, he's going to be incredibly important for this one.

A change in the centres would be nice. Cueto out for JSD would also be nice. I'd have liked Allen in, but c'est la vie. My changes would have created a back line with a lot of club connections though, which is a nice bonus.

edit: If Barritt is available, I'd like him in.

I'd like England to start this match with the same intensity and start punching holes in the Ozzies up front. They'd love us to spread it early, so don't, let the forwards and the big centres get their crashy-happy faces on and force the space out wide for Foden, Ashton and... erm, Cueto... to rip them to shreds. Well 2/3 ain't bad!

To be fair to Cueto, he'll find the gaps in the Aussie line, it's just he'll get caught before he makes it to the try line

Would like to see Hartley start, and Barritt or Waldouk at 12 with Hape at 13.

Don't care about Hartley's temper to be honest, we need to win the game and Chuter coming off the bench isn't nearly as scary as Steve Thompson (assuming Hartley starts which I hope he does)

In the centres neither fill me with hope: Hape has his offloading game; Tindall has experience; they can both defend and not much else. I'd prefer Tindall marginally on that note I'd pick Waldouck at 12.

Would like to see Cueto moved out of the 22, he's lost even more pace since last year - seeing Strettle put out there would be encouraging and I'd like to see what impression he can make - it's not like he's never played test match rugby before.

On the bench, I would pick Haskell, just for the reason that he's been in and around the set-up for a few years now and finally looks to be getting to grips mentally.

Care can bugger off until he learns to pass without stepping - good club player, little more at the moment. I think Hodgson's been putting in some good performances for Irish this season.

Hodgson at 21.

Would like to see Hartley start, and Barritt or Waldouk at 12 with Hape at 13.

Hape can't play outside centre fo' shiz

Tom Wood has been called up in case Moody is ruled out (he's being monitored for a head injury as a result of Mealamus headbutt)
If he is out I'd expect Fourie to start and Wood to be on the bench

Also, the 48hrs are up and Hartley hasn't been cited so he's in the clear now

Would hope that Wood gets the nod ahead of Fourie, but on the other hand Fourie didn't play badly when he came on, so wouldn't be that disappointed.
Given the way he played against the all blacks, Tindall should be concerned about his place. Much as I dislike Hape, I think Tindall had a shocker, so if anyone is going to change in the centre I would prefer that it be Tindall.

Only other change I'd consider would be MAYBE Palmer for Attwood. Again, not too fussed either way with this decision.

What I like about this Aussie side is that their backline which (with the exception of Cooper's defence) could be regarded as the best in the world. Their backs have a deep running attack which actually looks much more effective than the style of play the All Blacks use and their loose foward play has also improved immensly with players like Pocock in the mix so they'll look to exploit England's attack in that reguard.

Personally I think this is the Wallabies' game to loose. One would have hoped they have developed their scrum to some level of respectibility over the week because it goes without saying that this is where the game will be won or lost. However, England can't affort to give their backs any less respect that than what they would give the All Blacks because with guys like Will Genia, Quade Cooper and Adam Ashley-Cooper their style of attack could possibly prove more effective.

Forget about the fact that England beat them 4 or 5 months ago. It counts for nothing. It was only 2 weeks ago that the Wallabies sat the All Blacks' on their backsides after all.

Yeah, 2 weeks ago the Aussies stole it against the ABs while 2 days ago England didn't take a win that was there for them on a platter (even the most deluded of one-eyed Kiwis will have to admit that the ABs were hanging on for the final quarter).

If England can get it together (specifically, if they **** that useless Kiwi mungoballer off and get a real centre into the mix), they'll push the Wallabies pack all over the park. Giteau and Quade-Cooper may be deadly runners, but a running game isn't worth toffee when you ain't got the ball.

England by 7

(even the most deluded of one-eyed Kiwis will have to admit that the ABs were hanging on for the final quarter).

True. But in defence of the All Blacks their cylinders were firing at 65% at best thoughout most of that game.

The England pack will absolutely MULLER the Aussie scrum, but it wont be enough to prevent the Aussie backs from winning it for them

England's best best would be to forget about kicking the ball upfield, and just kick it out deep into touch so that no quick throw-ins are possible, or to continually knock the ball on every time they get it so that they can force the Aussies into scrum after scrum after scrum.
