England 2021/22

Rodd is the obvious one, but I think loosehead depth is fine. Tighthead is definitely more worrying.

I know Brantingham the young Falcons loosehead is very highly rated. I think Iyogun is a bit over hyped purely because he just about held his own when Saints had no other options.
He is, so it will be interesting to see how he develops. Our last great propping hope (Scotty Wilson) didnt quite go as planned...

James Whitcombe at tigers is a promising prospect at Loosehead big lad also.
Son of former Tigers (and Sale…) prop.
Grandson to former Bradford league legend frank jr
And great grandson to Welsh union and league player Frank Snr

Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife and he will have his vengeance, in this life or the next.

Id back Raffi at hooker.

Fortunately that old gravy train has pretty much stopped bar the odd one. We're actually getting our youngsters to stop now...thats why Dean needs to get it right now!

Did it stop because youngsters didn't choose to go to Tigers and Sale or did it stop because Falcons stopped producing for a bit

Nice piece on Radwan in today's Times.

Always take this kind of data with a pinch of salt, but in terms of top speed he's been measured at 10.85 m/s, quicker than LRZ at10.73 and May at 10.59.

I've found top speed a bit of a red herring, it's rare players are involved in an out and out sprint. Acceleration and direction change are more useful in rugby, but harder to measure obviously

Oh agreed, although having someone who can win a foot race in either attack or defence will always be pretty handy and give the opposition something extra to think about.

The article also says that he's got good acceleration and footwork. From what I've seen that appears to the case, although others will have seen more of him and be better placed to comment.

Also been working with Mike Brown to change his technique under the high ball. Attacking it more to get above the opposition and take it higher than he used to.

I hope he gets a proper chance to show it. May still has credit in the bank and a wealth of experience but I think that credit is running low and he needs to put in good performances this 6N. The fact that he has not that long ago almost single handedly dragged England kicking and screaming into some sort of reasonable performances through individual brilliance is what allows him to have a prolonged slump without being dropped.

Is it not better to just drop out someone like May though. Let him refine form and play the premiership and then if he gets form again next year bring him back in. Otherwise we run the risk of not having a proper backup.

I know not all plays improve after the challenge of being dropped but young wingers generally play well.

I would agree with those stats....Radwan is more like Jason Robinson....Electric over 1-40 and can step you in a phone box but over 100m doesn't quite have the staying power like LRZ or May.

Collier got be back up to Sinckler for me. Having a great season and wonder if Walker could be 3rd choice hooker over balmire. On tigers front also hoping to see Ollie chessum and Dan Kelly make the squad. Wells is also having a great season and prefer him to Ewels.

My only resistance to that is the damage it would do to Quins.

I'd prefer to see Isiekwe or Ribbans over Wells or Ewels, but Eddie seems resistant to Isiekwe so I'd rather Wells than Ewels.

I really like what I've seen of Chessum so far, but I think it's too much too soon.

Totally agree with isiekwe and ribbans would be the next pick. What's your thought about Walker as possible 3rd choice hooker as a quins fan ? Glad you agree about chessum. Obviously Martin got to be in there and thoughts on Kelly ?
