Aviva Premiership - Round 3

Was that Waldrom who just kicked? :O

Exeter looking in control. Nowell looking bigger and quicker.

BS penalty for Kvesic.
He went past the ball - penalty Ex - they're cracking down on this more this season, or should be.
He wasn't supporting his weight - penalty Ex (he was leaning on the floor).
He DIDN'T GET THE BALL - he was jackling Steenson's leg, the ball was there for Ex to play, but the ref blew before they did.

Kvesic's carrying isn't looking very strong - he was driven back by a scrumhalf a minute ago.

3 carries for 11 metres - stats are strong, I didn't see any weak carrying.

I thought his turnover was good too - hands touch the ground momentarily but immediately go on the ball and he makes an effort to rip it.
His feet and hips were in line with each other from memory - so it doesn't matter if his hands are on the floor, he's still supporting his bodyweight.

They are going to have to change the rules regarding contact in the air and tip tackles though - there needs to be room for common sense.

Ewers, Hill and Slade keep on trucking - going to be a very good season for them based on the games so far.
Nowell looked industrious too.

From the game I feel Slade will be called up to the full squad, Hill and Ewers probably Saxons. The reason I would select Slade is his kicking, he hit a 54m pen with ease and his kicking from hand was perfect. A guy who can play 10,12,13 will be bloody useful in the world cup. Also Ewers is just scary, and my mind on our back row changes constantly, but he would add something we dont have which is genuine grunt in the tight. I am a fan of Vunipola but Ewers carries much beter than he does and is a scary guy on defence, he could be our Willem Alberts. Also good too see Nowell, especially with that high ball where he jumped up like a cat and just missed it by miles :p

I know Sam Hill is young but he definitely outplayed 12trees.

I'd like to see slade in at 12, he has a great kicking and passing game and seems a strong lad too!

It's seems Exeter have a lot of young England stars in the making!

Disappointing we didn't win that as it was there for the taking. Some poor captaincy didn't help though twice in the second half we had Exeter pon the back foot and the crowd on our side and we went for the posts instead of the attacking line out considering two tries came from attacking line outs it was puzzling. Where we could have come out of the game with 5 points we have come out of it with 1.

As for the game I was massively impressed with Ewers every time he carried the ball he got over the game line. As for us it was the same old story too many penalties conceded mostly from scrums and lack of ideas with ball in hand. Was great to see May score again though he is looking very sharp and has improved his all round game. I would love to see him start for England.

Wondered why Williams was starting at 12.
Be interesting to see if Pohe gets on after everyone's been tugging themselves off about him on here!

Lovely catch from Banahan then......NAHHHT.

Really, really impressed by Ford in the first 15 minutes......doing everything, apart from one sloppy pass, right!!

Fantastic work from Joseph.
Bath up for it all right.
17-0 to Bath, 18 minutes.

Bit of a cock up from Bananaman there.

Forwrds did well to dig them out of that hole.

TBH Bath should trounce this Leicester team, Williams isn't a 12, and Smith although a handy player isn't up to it against the top 5.

And they are certainly doing that but how would you explain the destruction of the Tiger's forwards............?
