Australia vs England (3rd Test) - 16/07/22

Care starting is the only surprise really. Poor Merchant wonder why he's put on Eddie's exiles list?

Probably because Jones didn't realise he wears trainers without socks in his spare time or some **** like that.

I think we will be quick out the blocks again but Jones needs to address how England tend to rapidly fall off after the first quarter of the game. He also needs to drop his idiotic habit of not using subs in their full capacity. I'd he doesn't trust them, they shouldn't be on the bench at all.
Completely agree with this. Why have subs on the bench that you bring on on the last 10/5 mins. Pointless!!

I'd agree on JVP, he did have much better service than Care got from the forwards in the first test though. Its the kind of weird decesion I've became accustomed to from Jones to be fair.

Johnny May must have had a lovely holiday to Australia 😆

Yeah JvP was great, and he's not got enough international experience for this to be a "He's definitely first choice lets look at the next guy now" swap

Great to see Willis back, hopefully he makes it to game day 😬

Marchant surely must be injured or ill - no way Will Joseph would be involved again otherwise after only being trusted with double digits of seconds off the bench last week
I like Porter a lot, though, so not upset to see him get another start

Porter is the baffling exception to how Jones normally treats new caps.

Tbh there isnt much to be unhappy about with this squad.

Personally it would be JVP and Willis starting with Care and Ludlam on the bench and obv if fit Porter and Marchant at 13/22 in which ever order.

Non of them im to broken up about JVP was a calm head on an important test but is still inexperienced and 20 min from the bench is still good for him. Its alot of pressure going into this 3rd test on a young still quite inexperienced lad, same as Joesph and Arundell, worried about early injuries tbh.

Jones squads have felt a bit better, although it feels it's only ever like that when his hand is forced by injuries. The tactics are what really need looking at as he constantly selects players who don't tie up with the tactics he wants.

Has there been anything said at all about Marchant? No way he's been leapfrogged but Porter and Joseph, and isnt the finished product to the extent he doesnt need any gametime... so is it injury? Covid? Or EJ decided its for the best in his masterplan that we couldnt possibly understand until the WC final?

Had a look on twitter to see if a Journo has asked the question but can't see anyone - closest is Maggie Alphonse saying he should be in the 23, so if he is injured it's not common knowledge enough that she's come across it

On Saturday I'm interested to see how the Aussie coaching team respond. England have started strongly twice before they've got back into the game. If they can win that first quarter they should be able to go on and win the series.
It's not an issue. Despite that WBs were able to scored easily after the English storm.

Itoje and Underhill are HUGE absents for you
