Well whoever wrote it started from the silly approach of conflating the problem with associating liberlism with being left wing (socialism). You don't need to agree to socialism to agree with aspects of liberalism (look up neoliberalism). Whilst aspects of liberalism do align socialisst ideals neatly which makes them natural bedfellows.
However Communism in the Soveit Union proves how unliberal Socialism can be.
And most of his article is fair and should be promoted within company culture employee should be encouraged to find the median in culture that bests suits their business. I would argue that google's sheer amount of money means they probably got their culture pretty spot on for their business (one of the problem in the tech industry is everyone is trying to be like google and it simply doesn't work for their business).
What he got in trouble (and fired) for was suggesting that biological differences are why there are less women than men within in industry and its simply not true. The actual reason is cultural differences and tech/engineering jobs are deemed boys jobs at schools so far less girls study it and this problem gets exhastabated at the industry level where men are more naturally inclined to employ more men. Our latest intake of industrial placements had no women not because they are less capable but because we get significantly less applicants. The industry and society as a whole has to better promote STEM subjects for everyone at education otherwise the gap in diversity will never be made up. But thats an entirely reasonable arguement but saying women are worse at the subject is simply not true and completely baseless.
