A Political Thread pt. 2

I wouldn't be so sure Elon and Trump will fall out so quickly. Sure, Trump has got previous for not playing well with others but only really to people who question him. As long as you do as he says the relationship will be good. Musk is giving off big MAGA groupie vibes at the moment rather than insincere to gain power/influence. I think he loves the smell of Trumps farts to be honest.

Trump and Musk will fall out in a matter of months.
Yes, I agree considering they're both egomaniacs. But Trump will still be in office and I don't think I can stand four more years of him and the far right cult.

You have to laugh at these cabinet picks. I mean, Gabbard is a joke but amazingly next to a guy who almost killed someone with an axe the other day she seems one of the more competent ones, until she opens her mouth that is.

Since 2020 she's gone full bat **** conspiracy theory mode who blames everyone but Russia for it's invasion of Ukraine. She's a grifter and an opportunist
People on the right used to have integrity and even if you vehemently disagreed with everything they stood for, at least you could be sure they believed what they believed. This new "right" are the complete opposite, they'll do and say anything in order for a bit of power and/or clout.

Sad times. I don't know how you combat it from a left leaning/wing perspective. Ideally you need the right to sort it out themselves but they're to far gone now and have zero accountability which is only going to get worse now I fear.

Gaetz as attorney general? How laws has he allegedley broken?

From BBC
Last year, it declined to bring charges over allegations he violated sex trafficking laws during a trip he took to the Bahamas with paid escorts. He was the subject of an ongoing ethics investigation in the House of Representatives into allegations of sexual misconduct, illicit drug use and misuse of campaign funds.

Don't worry, supposedly he's going to root out corruption.

Luckily some of these appointments feels less like a concerted plan to make change and a trolling cabinet like Johnson's.

Further "Johnson said Gaetz had resigned as a lawmaker, effectively ending the House probe since the committee only investigates members"

The fact he can avoid the investigation by putting his resignation in as a law maker is staggering. Plus the fact they can't investigate him as he's not now a member is equally mad.

He can say I didn't do it and there's no investigation to prove or disprove the allegations.

I don't see how a guy who takes hookers on holiday with him has anything to hide when his boss was actually ruled to have commited sexual assault in a civil case.

America is certainly entering a dark age. Just depends on how long it lasts.
