No-one pays into NATO, so no debt is owed to NATO; wealth of the country in question is also irrelevant as the expected military spend is a %age of GDP, not an absolute amount. However, there's still no bill that needs to be paid, and no money owed from Germany to USA for protection - that claim is straight out of the mob's handbook.

If you have an Military Alliance then the members of that Alliance are responsible for providing Military resources to that Alliance. If one or more Members don't contribute the agreed resource then the Alliance either becomes weaker and less effective or someone else in the Alliance has to contribute more.

The USA have been contributing a disproportionate amount of resource to NATO since it was formed and it was mainly to the benefit of countries in Mainland Western Europe. Now questions are rightly being raised as to why some countries with powerful economy's within NATO are not/have not been pulling their weight. The way Trumps done it is childish and petty but he does have a point.

No they discover that they cannot cut back on defense spending even if Germany decided to contrubite 100/ of their GDP because its such a powerful part of the US economy.

George Osborne slashed and burned the NHS to dangerous extremes and now Teresa May May refuses enough funding to the NHS for basic life saving treatment.

Yeah...think Google and Starbucks have always paid that amount of tax. Something to do with them being able to register in one country (Ireland normally) and trade in another thus avoiding paying the higher rate of corporation tax.

Yup this is nothing new and I'm entirely sure how you combat it as you need to prove the profit made by companies in the UK alone.....far easier said than done.

Not sure if the Government and threaten to raise their business rates on UK property or restrict their access to the market. I not 100% but hasn't this got something to do with certain EU countries like Ireland having a race to the bottom in terms of corporation tax which might be more difficult when we leave the EU?
