Let me put it another way, when we had Riki Fluety playing I wasn't happy dispute any victories. Doesn't mean much when it's not really a proper player from that county. But guess not everyone feels the same level of national pride.

I don't think you'll find many countries with huge emigration numbers complain about diaspora playing for them.

Looking at the other side of the coin, England hammered Ireland in soccer yesterday (didn't even realise it was on until my brother switched over after the Wales Aus game) with three 1st / 2nd generation Irish players in Bellingham, Kane and Gallagher starting. Rice and Grealish scored in the last match between the two also. The team has beniffitted massively from immigaration and there's nothing wrong with that. England, France, NZ and Australia benefit massively from this in rugby too.

Now that naturalisation is 5 years, the likes of Flutey won't happen again and most countries grant citizenship after this time period too.

Scotland's reliance on it and inability to bring their own talent through is a problem they face even though it's rarely mentioned. Definitely part of the reason they have never beaten NZ or South Africa and Ireland since Johnny Sexton was a boy or bridged the gap to the top 4, whoever they were, at any point.
