Well he's suffered his biggest defeat so far. I'm sure he'll try and blame someone else for failing to deliver.

Oh yes - it's the Democrat's fault for not supporting it; nothing at all to do with the 30-odd Republicans who also refused to support it; or the fact that it was an absolutely appauling piece of legislation that failed at pretty much every single one of his elections promises on healthcare.

Apparently, he seems to think those Democrats he's blaming are being disloyal:
Trump the Dictwator said:
"We have to let Obamacare go its own way for a little while," he told reporters at the Oval Office, adding that if the Democrats were "civilised and came together", the two parties could work out a "great healthcare bill".

"We learned about loyalty; we learned a lot about the vote-getting process," he said.

"We were a 10-year opposition party where being against things was easy to do," he said, adding that it was difficult to get "people to agree with each other in how we do things".
So essentially, our opponents should be more loyal to me; and should have learned from the last 10 years where we refused to support anything at all, that they should therefore support me now.

Trump winning is pretty much a barometer that shows just how gullible many Americans are (no offence to the informed ones). He is basically the spokesperson for uneducated American white trash who wanted an anti-immigration hero sending the kind of nationalistic messages they had been craving to hear. Their votes were seen as low hanging fruit and that's what his campaign focused on.

The Democrats dropped the ball as they became far too obsessed with getting Hilary elected and it cost them the election. She had the money, played the woman card, had Obama campaigning for her, the media and intel agencies on her side and yet she still couldn't get it over the line. It was a spectacular failure.

After watching how election campaigns are being run - both American election and the Brexit campaigning I don't think I'd bother voting again. Just a load of gob****e politicians who aren't held to account for what they say on the campaign trail not to mention a biased media. The mandates they supposedly claim to have are rotten and simply based on lies and rhetoric. Hardly an example of best practice democracy.

Yes, It's unbelievable that he is blaming the Democrats for this. The Republicans have him as President, control both houses; they've been opposing Obamacare for 7 years. How can Trump with his great negotiating (the Art of the Deal) not be able put a good enough deal together and repeal in his words the "disaster" that is Obamacare? All very well saying how disasterous a piece of legislation is without something better to replace it. The fact is he could not persuade enough Republican Congressmen in the HOR to vote for his and Ryan's bill.

Again another example of Trump trying to blame someone else on his own failure. In his words this has been a "spectacular" failure for him and the Republicans.

Agree! Don't give the thick plebs a vote. Much better to only let clever people vote in a free society

I read a great quote somewhere which said that anyone with an IQ of less than 90 should only be allowed to vote on X-factor and Britain's got talent :)

Absolutely! Obviously if you need people for the army or police then any moron will do. But voting should be left to the academically gifted/rich/over educated.

More people did vote for Hillary. Just not the people whose vote counted the most.

The thing about democracies is you get what you deserve for the most part, hopefully we can admit we ****ed up before things go too much further.

Haha, 500 were expected to turn up to a Pro Trump rally in Manhatten, but only a 100 of his fans did.

Reminds me of an episode of Frasier when only 3 of his fans turned up to protest against Frasier getting fired from his job at the radio station KACL. The news report was "Imagine you had a rally and no one turned up.......".

He won't that's his background and on this he does have a point. Germany is a rich and powerful country who owes a lot to NATO being there. They should pay their share.

I have no argument against them paying their way. Just the method is terrible in fact I'm amazed that Merkel didn't walk out after being insulted that way. Hell I'm actually being nice about the business angle most customers would walk out of something like that and the dude doing it would be deep ****.

Yes but Merkel isnt a customer. From Trumps point of veiw shes a bad debter who needs to be told to pay up. It should have done behind closed doors though. No statesmen wants to deal with someone who cannot keep their gob shut on Twitter.

Whatever about wanting a fair 2% spend (which they've already laid out a clear plan to do), printing out a bill without any way of realistically leveraging your position is the action of an inflammatory child and can achieve precisely nothing against a nation which was fearful of even appearing in any way patriotic up until recently. Trump will not get one over Merkel. She's twice the statesperson and three times as intelligent.

In what way is she a customer? NATO countries don't pay the US military; they're supposed to spend 2% GDP on their own military.
The US doesn't pay their debts for them, and don't get paid by them. Germany owes the US zero in terms of military spending or NATO bills.
At worst the US could see it as a breach of contract, and refuse to help Germany in case of an invasion (and Trump is absolutely petty enough to consider that; possibly enough to do so as well); but Germany is NOT a customer here, they are allies.

Yeah allies who havnt been paying their way despite being richer than many that do. For all the talk from Merkel about the EU insuring peace in europe its always been the US military that has been the real peace broker and they are asking why should they continue to support an alliance when many countries in dont want to support it as they agreed to.
