we are all complicit for the actions of our govenments unless we speak out against them, even if we voted against them
with this guy, i don't know who all was complicit, but i'm sure he spoke to people about it and they did nothing and someone probably helped put this idea in his head
i am absolutely complicit to the airstrike today if i don't speak out, the government is supposed to represent the people. if we don't say that you are against the actions of your government, people are going to assume you are okay with it.
Tony Blair is a war criminal, but so is David Cameron and so is Teresa May. Just like every American president since G. Bush senior started the first Gulf war with a long time friend of America and Britin who outlived his usefulness.
So are any and all MP's who voted for the indiscriminate bombing of Iraq and Syria.
David Cameron was hailed a trade success by his Tory peers when he arranged a massive sale of British weapons and ammunition (oh sorry, um... 'security systems) to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. What are the Saudi's doing with it?
They are bombing a poor country like Yemen into the stone age. They are using Euro fighters and bombers to target civilian funerals.
Have a look at the long list of human rights violations against the people of Bahrain by it's govt...
But Dave was so pleased that he gave the smoking gun to the angry vindictive tyrants because it's good economics for his mates back here in blighty. Beides it's only a few thousand forweigners who will suffer far away while I'm playing pig in a poke with my mates at the University reunion.
The western media has been almost silent on this wanton destruction and murder because the use of their products will provide for future business with other aggressive regimes, like the puppet aristocracy in Saudi.
Follow the money...
Syria was a fantastic country to visit before it loomed large on the American radar as a stepping stone to Iraq and a chance to wipe Russia's footprint out of the middle east.
Now it is a wasteland and another potential fertile ground for the fermetation of extremists.
Russia, another powerful imperial aggressor in the region in the process of creating extremists through their actions of supporting Assad's route regime, just so they can maintain a card in the game of geo-political hegemony that continues in the middle east.
This doesn't happen by accident.
This is how the war machine/military system works.
It must have war or the threat of war to continue taking up so much of the public budget.
No country has ever attacked the USA in the modern era, with any kind of force, on their home soil.
It's not possible to convince even the most uneducated member of American society that any other aggressive nation has a chance of successfully conquering the USA.
So why keep making nuclear weapons and proliferating the manufacture sale and use of weapons all over the world.??
Terrorism.
It's the perfect answer from the military economic sector.
They can strike anywhere at any time so we must always be ready and prepared to use excessive force.
Terrorists, or freedom fighters, whatever they are, often both, they will appear when the country and populace they come from is oppressed by external forces and their lives are made unbearable through bombing, drone attacks, and or hostile occupation, to steal their mineral wealth and increase their geographical hegemony.
The biggest bully/terrorist nation in the world by far is the USA.
Why do they have a massive war fleet permanently stationed in the Persian Gulf?
Is it there for humanitarian purposes?
Hmmmmm...
Get used to the terror attacks in the west.
The ongoing military and financial subjugation of Arab states from the middle east to north Africa is only going to increase as the oppression continues.
The war machine is a massive profit creating entity. Without war, jobs are lost or at least put at risk. There must be conflict for the war machine to continue creating wealth for daddy warbucks.
The WAR machine needs terrorists to commit these small atrocities so they can dominate the nations media and eventually their thinking.
The War machine gets what it wants.
A dodgy dossier, an assassination to provoke a country to retaliate, (Israeli Mossad agents, using British passports among others... have been assassinating Iranian physicists and scientists for years now, inside Iran) whatever it takes, the war machine and it's supporting players will continue to 'show us' that we need to be 'protected'.
In the process our civil liberties will be eroded, for 'our own good', as they have been, systematically.
What that 'lone wolf' looney did was commit a terrible tragedy against innocent civilians.
4 people were killed and several seriously injured.
It was a brutal planned attack by a warped and twisted individual that can never be condoned.
Ask the question; how many innocent Arab civilians and their families were murdered by drone attacks just this year, where do they get a mention in the press?
Are their lives simply an acceptable collateral for the war machine to continue making profit?
How many innocent civilians continue to die from the round the clock bombings made by RAF pilots operating out of Cyprus?
For what purpose?
Extrapolating; how many people have died from a poor service from the NHS since George Osborne slashed and burned his way through it for 5 years?
How many British citizens have died because they couldn't afford to have the heating on this winter as the big six energy companies put their charges up by 10% across the board-room?? and yet apparently there is no collusion at board room level according to the media.
The loss of 4 lives is too many, yet how much media time does it gain across the tv, radio and print variety? When compared to the vastly greater number of deaths by other means?
It is overwhelmingly disproportionate.
If we don't fear the 'terrorists' then the War machine will find it hard to have a mandate to murder innocent civilians overseas and far away, with impunity.
NATO destroyed Gaddafi and his regime years ago. So why is there still no single govt ruling Libya?
Yet thier oil is carefully being taken from the south of the country and piped onto waiting supertankers in the mediterranean. The country remains war torn and lawless for the greater part ans different power bases support different warlords or interim govt.
It doesn't suit corporate policy to support the installation of a democratic process and bring peace to Libya. More war, controlled war, that doesn't interfere with the theft of their nations mineral wealth, is more desirable because it means an ongoing opportunity of weapns sales and the oil is a suitable currency on the world market.
All we need to do is stop bombing and droning foreign countries endlessly, and they won't see the need to create twisted minds hell bent on revenge (through radicalisation) .
Simple.
Trouble is the powerful and exceedingly wealthy will not have their income streams stopped in this manner so we have a media that doesn't report the atrocities being committed by the west (read as NATO) in Arab countries 7 days a week, instead they fill our screens and airwaves and newspapers with the solitary attack in London for the next period until until another looney comes out of the woodwork.
Stop the brutal military and financial oppression of the Arab states and the 'terrorism' will fade away.
My 2 cents worth
