A Political Thread pt. 2

I'd be very surprised if even this supreme court rules that a president is immune from criminal prosecution.

If they did then it literally would be the end of American democracy. Considering the whole point was to try and stop 1 man from holding too much power, making him immune to prosecution and any subsequent president just invites a dictatorship.

Let's see if the story disappears so we don't lose Conservative candiates....no **** it's just getting bigger. Ok, let's act now so it looks like we've at least done something even if it is a week late.

While Sunak isn't worse than Truss, I'm honestly debating if he's worse than Johnson. At least Johnson maintained the party's support. May looks like a political genius at this point.

He has zero political instincts its shocking these people weren't suspended immediately pending the investigation.

Could the guy in the lumber jack shirt be any more Canadian. I bet he's gutted the Oilers lost last night like i am.

Oh well the mounties always get there man as the saying goes.

Well looks like everyone else is doing it but why can't we. Allegedly bet on himself to lose.

I see the genocidal **** that is Braverman is yapping that someone called her a genocidal ****.

I've no problem with that. People that'd attempt to implement abhorrent policies that would verge, if not actually be, crimes against humanity should be harangued at every opportunity until they realise they are actually far away from the normal human moral compass.

Very slippery slope in my opinion, we've had politicians who have been killed in recent years and it's no wonder when views like the above are championed.

Firstly, and this might be pedantic, but she's not genocidal, even if you agree that Isreal is committing a genocide (which to me is silly as it's not really grasping that highly specialised intent that is necessary when defining genocide) it's not her doing it so it would be more apt to say "genocide supporting"

I detest Braverman but shouting stuff like that at her in front of her kids does nothing but make politics more toxic in this country which is what people like Braverman feed off. Don't give them the satisfaction. Explain you arguments and why she is wrong in a non aggressive way if you feel you must.

Its also gives them oxygen to voice their opinions on public platforms to why they are being attacked, did no one learn anything about Trump? Really hard to not sound off at friends who agreed it was really clever to throw bricks at Farage the other week.

There's more than enough articles by various people on how Starner and Sunak etc are facilitating genocide.

Not convinced anyone should be following them around the supermarket shouting abuse at them with there kids present. Or leaving images of dead children at constituency offices.

It's weird how people's moral compases decide on who gets harrangued and seen as not being a normal human. It is often dependent on who they are, and what party they affiliate with. I'd like to hope they don't vote for either main political party if they are not hypocritics.

UGHHHHH Now were getting into false equivalences.

Theres a major difference between placing a bet with prior knowledge of the outcome and having a flutter at yours or others fortune.

Errr.... what have you seen? What have I missed?

Is it the Labour candidate? My understanding is that he's been suspended whilst the gambling commission investigate - which given that Labour are hoping to make hay whilst the Tories take no action on actual gambling fraud, is harsh, but fair. Suspension whilst under investigation is pretty standard; and not doing so would absolutely draw the "see they're all the same" for those lazy floating voters and right wing press (see Starmer's legal beer versus Boris's multiple illegal parties).
