A Political Thread pt. 2

oh there has been some interesting quotes from the nut job wing of the party. Will be interesting to see if they follow through with their threats to not play along.
I hope so - there ARE enough fruit loop tories to force a GE if they do.

Go against a couple of 3-line whip votes (or just resign the whip on principal); get themselves deselected, and either force a GE directly, or go along with a vote of no confidence, and force a GE.
Then the likes of JRM, Francois, Redwood and Robertson can join whatever's left of UKIP, where they belong, and never be seen in Westminster again.

I don't think the Tories know what that word means.

There seems to be a concerted effort from the Conservative Party to paint Sunak as a "normal bloke done good" as if having parents able to cover £33k a year school fees (currently) is a situation that many / most children in the country find themselves in is symptomatic of either how out of touch they are or how stupid they think we are to blindly swallow it.

The attempts to portray Rishi as an out of touch multi millionaire were initiated by team Truss during the pretty nasty leadership contest in the summer. The idea that other Tory ministers are not rich and in touch with the common working person are utterly ludicrous given that most of them are also multi millionaire toffs born with silver spoons in their gobs.

Sunak is a liar, privileged and out of touch, says Jacob "I never lie, I can dress myself, low with the children" Mogg.

If you're going to fill your mine with munitions - don't smoke there (or let opposition special forces in; which of course, could never happen)

Also these:

In Bakhmut we "know" that Russia successfully advanced about 200m about a week ago, and then successfully advanced back to their previous position, apparently leaving a LOT of Wagner bodies behind. It being a trap may well be optimistic spin.

Sunak says Truss ****** it, praises Boris but promises a stable government to deliver on 2019 manifesto. So Johnson without the sleeze we shall see.

Smart decision to immediately counter general election it by saying he's delivering on that manifesto it won't work but at least he has a reasonable defence.

Johnson wishing him luck but if Sunak smart he'll keep him far away from government better to stab him in the back from the backbenches than within governement.

Thought Sunak spoke well and said the right things. Truss is a f'ing embarrassment and will be no loss.

Good to see Rees Mogg resigning before he got the boot. Good riddance to him too although I'm sure he'll be causing trouble in the background.

Braverman reappointed as Home Secretary.

Presumably not the same Braverman who stepped down from the same Home Secretary role less than a week ago, ostensibly for a breach of the Ministerial Code? Not that anyone believed that was her true motivation.

All for rehabilitation, but nonetheless feels like Rishi's first misstep.

Cleverly, Shapps and Raab not genuins selections either. Braverman takes the biscuit though.

Just really showing the severe lack of talent they currently have.
