Interview at end is very telling
Truss was already massively struggling, whilst it was the killing blow she was already on her way out hence the Lettuce.I think Labour may regret that fracking vote rather than keeping the completely unelectable Truss in power.
Pity he only pulls out after he has already given the country a good ******* and not before. For the first time, Boris pulled out...
If he actually had 102, there's no way he'd have pulled out.Boris Johnson exit from Tory leadership race avoids likely humiliation
However much the ex-PM blew his own trumpet he knew he did not have enough MPs on side to get back to No 10www.theguardian.com
Good analysis. Does anyone believe he actually had 102 MPs backing him? Or was it yet another one of his lies?
Around 52 declared publicly which was around the 60 that a former minister before the contest predicted he actually had.If he actually had 102, there's no way he'd have pulled out.
So now we have Sunak the Covid law breaker and tax avoidance encourager versus Mordaunt who inserts references to cocks and sex acts into a parliamentary speech about poultry as part of a bet.
Nads already calling for a general election. This only ends badly for Sunak but will last longer than Truss, I still think it will become ungovernable and he'll have to call a general election at some point next year.and I wouldn't be surprised if he and his cronies cause much trouble for Sunak behind the scenes.
