it's crazy that if I signed up in June I could have voted on who your next leader would be

Nothing, nothing is better than Pornhub. You'd be an upgrade on 95% of Tory members who think Boris' appearances on 'Have I got news for you' 20 years ago is better than Pornhub.
You've made Youporn sadNothing, nothing is better than Pornhub.
It will then fracture the party and hopefully result in Conservative MPs resigning the whip.
Forgive my knowledge of PR but would that lower there votes if it's a landslide as it would in 2019 for the Tories. My understanding is the Brexit party would have got 10 seats etc under PR in 2019.That would probably make it all worthwhile. As long as the split was permanent and when Labour get in with a landslide, they change FPTP to PR.
Nah that was some other genius since my declaration a number of years Trump would never be president, I have zero faith in my political predictions. I thought he was resigned to the dustbin but only because I predicted a general election before he'd have the chance.@ncurd didn't you call Johnson coming back a while ago?
Short term. Yes, they'd lose votes - but they'll likely lose them anyway due to being in power.Forgive my knowledge of PR but would that lower there votes if it's a landslide as it would in 2019 for the Tories. My understanding is the Brexit party would have got 10 seats etc under PR in 2019.
Would it be in Labour's interest to switch?
The dismantaliting of the megaparties to their actual distinct groups will be one the main benefits.Short term. Yes, they'd lose votes - but they'll likely lose them anyway due to being in power.
Medium term, no - it'd work out better.
Long term, probably yes, they'd lose a bit of their relative size as there would be more viable alternative parties. But it would be a healthier democracy for it.
UKIP would have been in Parliament from the early 00s under PR as they were in the European parliament but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea.Forgive my knowledge of PR but would that lower there votes if it's a landslide as it would in 2019 for the Tories. Yup. "People who say things I disagree with would get a voice (proportional to the number of people who do like what they say)" is a reason in favour of PR, not against.UKIP would have been in Parliament from the early 00s under PR as they were in the European parliament but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea.
