Great to see Truss 6th in a 5 horse race and she's the one the right wing of the party want to back....
Bottom of the stairs. Ruled accidental. Conspiracy theories started as soon as I read the news.Ivana Trump died of blunt impact injuries to torso - NYC medical examiner
The death of Donald Trump's first wife is ruled accidental amid reports that she fell down stairs.www.bbc.co.uk
And let the conspiracy theories begin….
Anyone watch tonight?
So has all the requirements to be PM judging by our current standards...I watched and it cemented my view that Truss is woeful and actually a bit thick. She was clearly gunning for Sunak from the start and set the tone for the debate. She came across as spiteful and desperate.
The fact she was backing Britons to go out and fight in Ukraine as FS completely rules her out for me as PM through her lack of judgement.
The others including Mordaunt - I just don't know enough about or just don't stick out for me as PM.
Sad to say Rishi is the best of a bad lot. I think that resigning just after Javid and then the rest of the ministers should save him from the "knife wielder" never becomes PM.
First ethnically Asian PM - would be a big milestone for UK. Just got to win remaining ballots and then the backing of grass root Conservative party members.
I must admit I much prefer the Starmer/Rayner/Allin-Khan/Tugenhat people who have lived genuine/lives careers outside of politics before entering parliament. Its not an easy balance though.Anyone actively seeking out power should be automatically ruled out from obtaining it. I hate Tories more than anyone but this is a brush you can tar all politicians with. Granted there are politicians who look to do good things at a constituency level and their hearts are in the right place but for people to have lifelong ambitions to become PM like Sunak and Co are the worst types of people you want to become PM as power and prestige is all they're really concerned about.
Same applies for police. If your lifelong ambition is to be a police officer you probably shouldn't
Oh yeah, 100%. In the face of all the "metropolitan elite" stuff Starmer has to deal with I have no idea why he doesn't bring up his working class upbringing more. Guess it can look a bit staged or something but if that was me I'd be saying "some of us had didn't have much growing up and we had to work hard to achieve what we wanted in life unlike 90% of the Tory party"I must admit I much prefer the Starmer/Rayner/Allin-Khan/Tugenhat people who have lived genuine/lives careers outside of politics before entering parliament. Its not an easy balance though.
