A Political Thread pt. 2

Tbh I'm honestly wondering why they agreed to a leader's debate in the first place. Out of the 5 of them only 2 will make it to the final round where party members can vote. At the moment only Conservative MP votes are up for grabs and their decision is not going to be swayed by these debates. The debates were always going to be a bad look because our politics is so childish and all of them are far too ambitious and selfish not to stoop to personal attacks.

If anything the tv debates should have waited until the final two when the wider membership votes and the candidates need to get their message across.

I agree, to be honest I'm not a fan of any of the TV debates as there's generally no discussion taking place.

Now, if there was a Flash Gordon style fight to the death on a spinning table spikey thing then I'm all for it but the format needs to change.

Nah. TV debates are good.

You clearly get to see who are the scum and who aren't.

We even get to see that truss is either a stupid piece of **** or a lying piece of **** whereas sunak can count.

See I'm happy for the Conservatives to argue amongst themselves. Just don't understand why they agreed to do it from their point of view.

With Truss it's clearly a little from column A and a little from column B

Johnson basically using a mock confidence vote to keep reminding us that he genuinely thinks he's done nothing wrong and that we should be grateful for what he has done. Honestly the guy has shown zero genuine remorse for his actions and behaviour.

The Guardian has been writing some interesting things about the royals. Their exemptions from various laws, reports of wildlife abuse; is this summertime boredom or what?

Sad stat that the next the next PM will be chosen by 0.2% of the population or around 160k who are predominantly white, male and on average over 55 and living in London/South east, who are Conservative party members.

It'll be even more sad if they pick Truss or Mordaunt after their shitshow performances in the TV debates. The fact that Rees Mogg backs Truss is enough of a reason to dislike her even more.

Tugenhat out, looms like not much movement with all of Bravermans breaking for Truss or Baendoch.

The entire Johnson premiership has to be one of the biggest "I told you so"'s in history.

Didn't remove the other 11 people which means whilst this is a normal practice suggests it has nothing to do with that.

Utter coonts! Seriously, The fat **** in 10 Downing St and his Truss backing cronies like Rees Mogg, Dorries and Duncan Smith just can't help themselves. Proroguing Parliament was bad but they continue to reach new lows with their interference and dark shitty arts and dirty tricks. They've dragged this contest into the gutter with their attacks on Sunak and Mordaunt and now removing the whip from Ellwood who can no longer vote for Mordaunt - pathetic. Truss is still an ally of the fat **** and is just an extension of the Johnson/Rees Mogg/Far right regime.

Unlikely to happen but Tugenhadts supporters should all back Badenoch in today's vote as it's the last chance to knock out Truss and tell her and her Boris loving cronies to get to ****.

The problem is Badenoch represents the right of party as well. Sunak and Mordaunt are the 'moderates'.
