A Political Thread pt. 2

I believe Rishi went to Winchester Public school and then Oxford where he did PPE like Cameron. Made a packet in investment banking and then onto Parliament. His understanding of ordinary working people - very low indeed even from a young age.

His total incomprehension of why his wife's non dom status and taking advantage of it whilst he was chancellor poorly reflected on him imo.

One abiding memory from secondary school first and foremost one who can control a class and that boils down to respecting them. Can't teach if pupils don't respect the teacher. Of course, each teacher has their own way - fear or few were down to pure inspiration.

I recall a history teacher would deliberately go mental when he covered lower year groups, behaviour that would today verge on verbal and emotional assault, so that when he taught them when they got to gcse level, he would have a well behaved class.
Yeah but this is kinda my point. A good teacher is hard to quantify, especially from a headhunting point of view. When man like Tigs was saying they get headhunted I assumed there's no private school teacher headhunters lurking in the back of state school classrooms searching for "the best teachers" and it's more done on who went to the best schools and got the best grades. In my mind that does not equate to being a good teacher, in fact those people can be terrible teachers. Anyway, was just a random tangent thought.

Shapps out backing Sunak as is Raab
JRM/Dorries backing Truss I dunno if that's good or bad certainly suggests a split from the ERG who are going Braverman

So beginning to looks like Sunak, Truss and Braverman with AN Other from Tugendhat, Mordaunt & Zahawi into the last 4

The Tories are good at self preservation. Really none of these should have a snowballs chance in hell in being next PM but it's pretty much guaranteed at this point.

Jesus Christ, these same people accuse the left of engaging in culture wars... Outright lies. Johnson woke!? ******* hell.

What I can't stand is the f'ing victimhood that journalist is portraying Bojo as suffering. Using that same old trope as with Trump. Appeals to that Fox/Tucker Carlson audience who are aggrieved.

Anyone else on this forum have real problems with nationalistic campaign videos set to "I Vow to Thee My Country" because their brain sings "World In Union" instead?

Parody

The tragic thing for me is that so many politicians now have a massive union jack hanging behind them as a way to appease Brexiteers and nationalists.

I don't think that's a bad or a new thing

"Cool Britannia" was all about reappropriation of that imagery and more global outlook we need to focus on that.

Picture of Blair for demonstrative purposes.

Anyone know why Mordred is coming out as the front runner?

They are also reporting that Rishi loses every final 2 head to head apart from if he faced Zahawi. It might not be long before MPs to start deserting him and backing someone else.
Honestly I was surprised Rishi put his hat in the ring and he did so well of initial polling. I thought non-dom status and being fined made him dead in the water to begin with.

Badenoch is a chilling prospect the more I read the more she worries me. Might actually be the worst of the 8 closely followed by Braverman.
