A Political Thread pt. 2

So for those in the UK plus 5 hours for ET.
So

15:30 - Georgia declares Biden
17:00 - Nevada declares the election (unless Maine-2 rains on their parade)
02:00 - Ghost of McCain gives Trump a heart attack ;)

This a joke, GA almost certainly a tight recount either way.

So if healthy will trump run in 2024?
I don't really know of any other Republicans who will put their hands up.
Yeh I think he will. Even if He loses he will use the next 4 years to go on the campaign trail. He's already getting the narrative ready that this election is being stolen from him and he's the sodding victim of this great conspiracy. It's a ducking disgrace.

And as I understand He's also still allowed another term under the constitution. He knows he's got a strong base to be re-elected. Trumpism isn't going away and McConnell will frustrate Biden's presidency for the next 4 years.

Wouldn't be surprised if Don Jr. runs - I would say Ivanka but I don't think his fanbase would accept a female president

Biden's lead in Nevada increased to more than 11,000 according to CNN.

Assuming he's healthy, not in prison and not left the country for somewhere without an extradition treaty...

The Electoral College is antiquated and should be abolished. We should use a popular vote count to decide like we do with our other elections (Governors, Senators, Mayors, etc.)

I think the only changes in the last 100 years in terms of presidential popular vote would be
Clinton beating Trump
Gore beating Bush

Or phrased another way, since 2000 we would have had 3 Democrat presidents and 0 Republicans rather than 2 Republicans and 1 Democrat. That is a pretty sizeable difference. Evidence suggests Democrats are frequently winning the popular vote but losing when it comes to the electoral college or state level gerrymandering. This is systemic disenfranchisement of thousands of people.

I don't think the outcome is really that important. It's just ridiculous that your vote is worth less if you live in a densely populated area.
