3rd TEST: South Africa v Lions

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (shtove @ Jul 4 2009, 07:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>
Why not?

Is it because of the awesomeness of your midfield and the sparkling phases you put together? You are GUARANTEED to win the 3N! :p[/b]

No. It's because many of you seem to forget that we fielded a second team today, and most of (if not ALL) of our issues on and off field are thanks to our retard of a coach. We are oozing with talent, and have the best individual players on the planet. Hell, we play an average game and still beat the best that the UK & Ireland have to offer.

Yes, i blame the coach. It's like having the worlds best swimmer getting trained by an elephant.

Missed the game for Britain's Got Talent in Cardiff. The rugby side ain't too bad either, apparently.

Test series we could have won. Probably the worst the 3N's sides have played collectively in many a year.

Also, Lol, so much for THE BEAST!!!!

John Hayes is the man.

96th test cap, comes on, holds the scrum steady and dominated Carstens when he came on. Improves the line out, and hits the ruck like a demon.

Will still be first choice for Ireland in 2011.

Deserved win for the Lions, I really wanted a 3-0 series whitewash but hey I'll just have to suck it up and take the 2-1 ;). The Lions were WAY more hunger for the win.

This Bok team always had the potential to be really crap or really good. With 10 changes from last week's team, it really showed. A lot of the new guys had indifferent games, except Brussow. Quite a strong little he is  man handled poor old Martyn Williams.
Again ball retention and rucking technique damaged us, I'll settle that the wholesale changes were the cause but it's really something we need to improve on. Support was lacking almost every time we went forward.

Ah well, I'm not too phased about he loss really, would be really harsh if the Lions never came away with a win. It actually reflects how tight the contest for the Test series was.

My thoughts as well, i'd not really payed that much attention to him before this tour, and hearing so many people singing his praises,
He beat Vickery completely in the first test, but the way vickery was playing, most international props could have. But then in the second he got demolished by Adam Jones, then playing about the same as vickery in the third

Good tour in all, i think, some great matched, unlucky not to win it, but thems the breaks, two very close matches with the boks, great to watch

Really?

Habana and Matfield for sure. Brussow could be great. FSteyn should be great but he's a bit of a mystery.

That's about it.

The rest are decent professionals. Disappointed with du Preez.

You forgot to mention Jacque Fourie,M.Steyn,Spies,Kankowski,Botha and Pietersen, and those are only the ones on top of my mind. The only Irish players who I thought was good is... O'Gara (who turned out to be ****) and O'Driscoll who is "okay"

We'll see come autumn.

Yes, Fourie is miles ahead of BOD.

Heartfelt congratulations to the Boks before letting loose with a sneering put down.

Completely controversial opinion about certain players.

A totally unbased assertion that one home nation should have had more players in the squad than the others.

Random insult towards Steve-o.

Right, thats my final Lions comment out of the way! :D

Didn't see enough of Fourie. Certainly better than Jacobs.
Steyn wasn't that good today, though has proven he has nerve.
Spies had three or four decent charges, but was anonymous otherwise.
Kankowski? Laugh.
Botha? No. Works well with Matfield but not the best in his position.
Pieterson? Were you guys not lambasting him for being utterly cock not too long ago?

Yes, I bit.

"Poor sportsmanship from many of the Springboks though, like whoever it was slamming M. Williams into the ground/all the players starting on M.Philips/Heaslip"

You're not serious?

"Overall SA are not a great side. Too much bully, not enough quality"

Yeah dude, you know what you can go do?

I wish someone locks you up in a room with Pierre Spies. I would LOVE that.

Well deserved win by the Lions, Well deserved South African win for the series.

I hope we slaughter all the ******** in Autumn.[/b]

WHO GIVES A f***...

imho

F%4K A MORAL VICTORY[/b]

Oh come on guys, tell us what you really feel.

As for the rugby, well thank gawd for that. Good display from the Lions who obviously wanted it more, got the sense that the South African relaxed a bit for the game knowing it was Mission Accomplished from their point of view, explains the "weaker" side put out.

3 points. First off doesn't that Broussow have a face that you just want to punch or is that just me (cracking player though). Flutey was brilliant, especially in setting up Shanes 2nd try. And isn't Chilliboy Ralepelle just THE best name in rugby like for ever.

Sir.Speedy true, but I didnt mean the lions series, I was responding to some numnut saying we dont have talent.

Pietersen can be horrible, and then be brilliant, most of the time brilliant.

Well well well

28-9 good result

Bravo Lions

I expected win but not with such a big difference

Pre-match I predicted 28-20 Lions so I got it half right.
