[2017 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs Scotland (12/03/2017)

Ahhh. The flaccid torture of scrum resets to celebrate a championship win

Brown pass the ****ing ball!!!

I'll take that....;)

61 points past a good Scotland side.

And Six Nations Champions again. Saves me having to change my Avatar for another year. :D

18 test wins and next week to break the record. :)

Well I definitely didn't expect a 40pt win.

Was it Jones Boy who predicted that?

Hell of a performance, we finally bloody woke up!

Bit annoyed to concede 3.

Still, scoring 61, winning a ***le and equalling a world record isn't a bad afternoon's work.

Back 2 Back grand slams as well the first of the 6 nations era. Still not sure we can win Dublin is a hard place to win but we'll see.

We were given quite a lot of leeway at the breakdown to be honest but maybe it's about time since other teams have got plenty this tournament. But a lot of times Scotland seemed to have their hands on it fairly and were penalised. In regard to how the referee treated the breakdown - as a platform for the game rather than being the game itself - we have him to thank for allowing us to play the great running rugby that we did.

Agreed, but there were times when they laid around on the ball, and even Laidlaw said another day and their 2 would have seen red.

England good. Scotland bad. The referee a disgrace.

Normally one sided games are a write off for the neutral but i enjoyed that.

Yep, how could i forget the Grand Slam is also there next week.

Dublin is not easy place to win, but I wasn't that impressed with Ireland last night. I think England have the bit between their teeth now to finish them next week (without getting too overconfident). Momentum is a big thing in sport, and it is definitely with England right now.

I have played rugby and/or watched England play rugby for 50 years and I have never seen them put in such a ruthless performance. No doubts there. Scotland, who have been the best team in the 6n until today, were cut to ribbons. Scotland were simply outgunned.

A few observations

JJ is irreplacable on that form. Must be nailed on 13 for the Lions
Launchbury is at another level and forms a great partnership with Lawes. Kruis will have to earn his place back.
Itoje was immense today. Nice to see him having a few spats too. Eddie likes spunky players.
Hughes had his best game to date, but was overshadowed by Biily on his return
Brown. Will someone get him to pass the ball?

Russell showed he isn't ready for the white hot atmosphere of a Lions match. Naive passing too at times.
Huw Jones. I like the cut of his jib. A very good player already.

The referee missed so much and didn't have a good game. The yellow in the first minute should have been red. Shouldn't have needed the TMO to reverse the yellow card he was about to show Hughes. He had the benefit of the big screen and still missed it was just a late tackle.

Great result for England, Scotland were poor but the injuries affected them badly. England now have a great chance of the slam. They deserve it.

Pondering - with tongue in cheek!

Well done England, can't argue with that! But I feel guilty. Guilty because I've 'used' England today. Used them like back in the day a sailor might have used a girl in every port. I've used them to increase my BedFred balance - a cheeky little double on France beating Italy and England beating Scotland. Thank you England! Thank you France! I must also add that I did back Wales to beat Ireland yesterday and that was worth a few quid to me. But I still feel guilty over using England the way I did. I feel like I've pimped England out for some reason. Sorry England! Me bad!

Rugby's a funny old game though isn't it? England scraped through their games until today when all cylinders fired - but then Scotland were a dilapidated team even before that yellow card in the first 8 mins. Of course that poor start didn't help Scotland, at all. And Hogg going off must have felt like a diisaster to them!

Wales were involved in arguably 2 of the best games in the 6 nations so far (England and Ireland) and came off with one win out of that. And yet look what England did to Scotland today after what Scotland did to Wales just 2 weeks ago. It seems also that the England team spent some time learning the laws and rules which made for a free flowing game compared to the Italy England game! And look what Wales did to Ireland after what they did to Italy. Like i said its a funny old game. Sometimes results don't give an accurate reflection. Or a 'true' reflection.

Still, well done England. I had a feeling you'd win today. I didn't think the win would be that emphatic! Looking forward now to Wales v France and Ireland v England. I do have a feeling that Scotland will beat Italy, but who knows? Like I said funny old game!
