Complicated thoughts about that last 10 minutes.
Francis should have 100% gone. Yellow at least, red more likely.
Cole was lying in the ruck because he'd just been poked in the face. I think the card should have been rescinded tbh.
It's absurd that in that situation, England are the team down to 14. Joubert had a very bad minute.
That being said, England were heading towards a team card anyway. Had Cole not gone, someone else probably would have. On the other hand, the penalty from Francis' poke would have relieved pressure and it may not have come down to that?
Wales were dominant, but I doubt they would have been as dominant if England had a full 15 on the field. I doubt they would have scored two tries. But I also doubt they would have scored nothing.
On the other hand, would any of SANZAR conceded two tries in a handful of minutes when down to 14? Being able to defend when down to 14 is a part of the game. Joubert may have pulled the sword out, but England were the ones that fell on it.
The changes clearly had a big impact on our defensive structure. Where was the leadership? Robshaw probably wasn't the one that should have been sacrificed for a front rower.
Wales deserve credit. They were on top for a lot of the second half, even the last 10 aside. England also deserve credit, because they dominated for longer. The right result happened in the end, so not too unhappy.
