[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

On the other hand, would any of SANZAR conceded two tries in a handful of minutes when down to 14? Being able to defend when down to 14 is a part of the game..
Agrred but they played most of the 10 minuites and the average points conceded is 10. Add in a mix of tired legs and players just changed and it's a recipe for disaster.

Yes we should of done better in that situation and I'd probably be a lot more angry with England had the poor decisions not been made against them.

Nice job, Thingimubob, but save your breath, the English are "world beaters" again. They have God on their side. The unwashed do not not have an opinion worthy of their righteousness. Meanwhile in everybody else's reality England did what England do. Look good.......till it counts.

Please we have someone better than god.......

Stop being Jelly.

Really that needs a vid not an image that doesn't show if his knee hit the deck before hand. Can u share another image of Williams forward pass that resulted in a try.

Hahahahaha. The ball is not in his hand there, before he's anywhere near touch. Therefore ball has already left his possession before he hits touch. Not in touch.

Top post, +1. Itoje is going to continue to make Twickers look like Agincourt did in 1415, with the bodies of slain foes all around him, for years to come. For England, and St. George

Why are we arguing about the north in touch?

The game is finished and England choked, stumbled and awkwardly fell over the line.

Hahaha. Such a comeback. Just admit North wasn't in touch.

Why do I need a comeback to a play that maybe Wales were dealt an injustice vs one that they were clearly awarded a try that shouldn't have been.

Substitutions!
Weren't England leading comfortably when changes were made?
Were they tactical substitutions? Were they necessary?
OK, so changes had to be made swiftly following the yellow card, but it seems to me that their game had begun to fall apart when Tuilagi came on.
If it ain't broken .......?

Welcome to the internet.

To talk about the game -

Youngs' long passing was woeful and the root cause of Wales getting back into the game. I love his close-in game, but it's embarassing a scrum-half passes that badly, and I'm really not sure how long Jones will let that go on.

My biggest beef with Joubert's reffing was his complete lack of sympathy to the player on the ground; credit to England for being street-wise and trapping players in there and, on one occasion, actually throwing the Welsh player back in.

North made Nowell look slow at least twice for my money.

Tuilagi looked super lost out there at times but did at least make two big interventions.

Since I've been slagging off his goal-kicking all tournament, a shout out to Farrell for an excellent night the one time it mattered most.

The Youngs/Ford/Farrell combo was working well.

Eddie admitted in the post match interview that he tried players and combinations out and that it probably wasn't the right thing to do. Or words to that effect.

England were 18 points ahead with 20 minutes left and were ticking along fairly steadily; Farrell had just knocked over two penalties and Wales had only scored a chargedown try at that point. It worked out alright in the end though, and hopefully he's learnt the lesson of never letting the Welsh get a sniff of a comeback win.

I'm hopinh this is true because if there was one thing from Lancaster's reign that was prevalent to the end was not learning form our mistakes.

Noticed that too - was late on.

The substitutions happened, and I'm glad they did. You'll see the benefits later down the line when those players come on late in a game (or start, even) and there isn't as big a disruption as we saw today, because they have experience of playing test rugby.

One of the primary failings of the Lancaster regime was the reluctance to develop players in the test arena - Jones is doing that.

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't youngs go off when the game was 25 - 7?

A million times this. Ford will probably take the flak for the chargedown, but it was a shocker of a pass from a scrum half. Add to that the number times England's momentum is checked when a forward has to catch the ball over the head just prior to contact. Can Care's box-kicking be so bad (and Youngs' so good) that he's not worth the start?
