Congratulations England, can't say Wales deserved to win that one. That first half was the worst I've seen Wales play for a long long time; no attacking structure, giving away penalty after penalty, no protection of the ball in the rare moments when we actually had possession. Just simple amateur mistakes in that half ruined the game for us and from then on we weren't going to catch up.
The last 10 or so minutes frustrated the f*** out of me as a Wales fan, mainly because it proved that our players are capable of playing intelligent attacking rugby when under pressure. Yes, it was against 14 men, but it's not as if the players in that England team aren't well versed in coping with a man down. Jonathan Davies and George North in particular seemed to go into a different gear, one that we haven't seen from those players for years. I saw flashes of Davies' former flair and natural skill. It kinda made me feel nostalgic about these former glory days (and the potential those players once had in attack):
Why is it that Wales only ever play like this when they are in need of vast amounts of points? It reminded me of the way we racked up the points difference against Italy last year. I really do feel like the attacking confidence has been drained out of this squad. All tournament Jonathan Davies has kicked every time he has laid hands on the ball. In that last 10 he threw a sublime long pass out to North to score. It's frustrating because we all know the backline are more than capable of pulling off such moves, but it has been suppressed to such a degree that it only ever seems to show itself when Wales are in desperation.
I'll stop rambling now. Well done England. They have been the best team in a very poor six nations. The Southern Hemisphere won't be losing any sleep any time soon that's for sure.
