AWJ had a fine game, but Roberts was on another planet in the second half and particularly after Scotland took of his opposite number who was injured.
Roberts grabbed that game by the scruff of the neck and scragged it until the final whistle.
That kid on the wing, Liam? He made more impact than George North on any given day.
I'd drop the lump on the other wing, bring back North and play this Liam kid again, he has pace and a step

Agree with all of this

Very odd as Lydiate has been poor of late, really unimpressed with him so far.

He hasn't offered much for a while. In 2011/12 his defence was excellent and kept him in the side. Now it seems to be less noticeable, and his lack of carrying is more evident.
I'd rather play Tipuric or even King (who plays blindside for the Ospreys alongside Tipuric, can carry and also be a lineout option).

Ball isn't a bad player, but can be a liability. For a coaching staff so obsessed with no mistakes, he is allowed to give away a few penalties and still play.

What do the Scots have against Biggar? Hogg got him in the air last year, and now Russell today.

Thought Tipuric was pretty outstanding in attack and at the breakdown. Really has to be brought into the starting 15.

Cuthbert did nothing all game. Kept running away from his support - lost the ball for the Hogg try turnover. Has to be dropped. Williams should start with North on the other wing - if North is out, call someone else up (Amos, Morgan J Williams - anyone but Cuthbert).

Also - first time Webb has scored and we've actually bloody won!

I still don't understand why the ref didn't refer the "try" at the end of the 1st half.

Because he was nowhere near to line (from what I saw)? Jackson was spot on in the right position to see see that.

Agreed... it was one of the few critical decisions that the referee actually got right! He was a foot short of the line.

The ref wasn't the best but consistent to both teams in my opinion. During the welsh pressure in the 2nd half, I felt the scots got away with a lot at the breakdown. Surprised there wasn't a sin bin then and not a yellow to wales near the end.

However, that was some good butchering of chances from the scots.

Good bad or indifferent, you cannot keep moaning at the ref.....................

Scotland blew it against a Welsh team that were there for the taking!!!

White line fever or careless mistakes cost Scotland dear and that is the reality!! Maybe a win would give them enough confidence to take on the other 6N teams but where is that coming from..........they could not challenge a porr French team and pulled defeat from the jaws of victory here!!

World Cup prospects for these teams.................ZERO!!

I still see Scotland now fighting Italy for the wooden spoon.............if they keep making the mistakes they did today, then Italy will run them close!!

if Gatland was running Ireland, even they would be heading for the Wooden Spoon.................God help Wales if he stays in charge!!!!

Scotland v Wales ref: Is Glen Jackson good enough for top class internationals?

I have not witnessed such poor refereeing at international level. Apart from clear bias towards the boys in red, his reluctance and choice not to check the TMO For two 'good shouts' for Scottish tries was abhorrent. But also 2 definite yellows that were not given against Wales impacted on the final result? Does anyone else agree his below standard refereeing should be punished or at least discussed by the IRB? His decisions ruined what was a brilliant match for the impartial armchair supporter.

An excerpt of a post soon to come on my blog about the ref:

The ref. The ******* ref. I agree with the yellow cards in the first half, but he must have left them in the dressing room because when they were needed against the Welsh in that second half he never showed them. Kicking the ball away in a dangerous area, a high tackle on the last man, repeated offences and yet the ref let them off with it all. Of course it wasn't all against Scotland, the tackle off the ball that led to Webb's try should have been a yellow, regardless of the "blocking" and Scotland repeatedly infringed for a period of time in the second half, but those last ten minutes were a sham from the ref and cost Scotland dearly.

Kind of like yesterday when all who were not English thought Italy had been screwed over...

Definitely one off the worst performance from a referee i've ever seen at international level, Not saying he's harsh on Scotland but also harsh on both Scotland and Wales. A ref like him shouldn't ref a top international game like this one. As a scot i'm saying he was really harsh on us but some harsh decision went against Wales too. But i'm not 100% sure if all he decision helped Scotland lose though.

I like Jackson. Yes he'd a bad day today but he's still relatively young and well I'm more inclined to say these guys just need work done with them than be hung out.

Lads as a neutral. I'd just say yes the ref had poor game BUT what the hell was Hamilton doing starting a scrap at end. It cost his team valuable time and was the difference between the game being restarted or blown up.

I still don't understand why the ref didn't refer the "try" at the end of the 1st half.

Because him and his TJ were both clear in saying it was held up. And not grounded from both their views

Garlands biggest mistake with his team over the last 12 months is that he has kept Tipuric out in the cold, the guy is dynamite at the breakdown and Warburton cannot be expected to compete at the highest level on his own and do all the tackling he gets through.
Lydiate is a powerful defender but he has no snout for the pill, Tipuric secures ball and pulls off critical turn overs, give the kid a run.

I should check out your blog. Of course it wasn't all against Scotland and to their detriment, as the Welsh suffers too. But they will be smiling in the bath with the Scots seething for what ifs and having established and proven top class refs such as Romain Poit, Craig Joubert, Wayne Barnes, Steve Walsh and even Nigel Owens?

Not 1 to slate refs but between Ireland and Munster I can say every one of those refs except Owens has had days like today that I've seen 1st hand.
