Everyone who isn't Welsh is saying the ref screwed Scotland over.

luckily i wasn't at the game or i would have punched the ref for not giving that try.

why is it that i feel that you might be correct ?

It is going to descended into chaos.

So I as per usual won't be commenting about the game (Mod and their opinion and stuff)here but I do request politely that this game is discussed in an adult manner. Don't want to be cleaning the thread up and get so much rubbish for doing so, so please play nicely and let's have a nice clean debate.

Thanks

by any chance was that the obstruction on Harley which denied Liam Williams try ?. I was just glad they didn't give him the score its what he gets for his stupid celebration.

Very true. Awfully hard done by there.

What did Wales suffer exactly? Not having about two men sin-binned & a penalty try given against them?

What about taking the man out without the ball in the build up to Webb's try?
It didn't have any effect on the score, but its still a cynical infringement taking out the supporting player off the ball - and don't give me anything about him blocking, as he's entitled to be there as a supporting player. If Williams had tried passing it to him, 100% would have been a penalty and a Scottish player in the bin.

But as he went for Webb, it got passed over...

As Bluemoon (I think) said - Scotland had repeated infringements on the second half - no yellow.

Plenty of other small decisions that were very baffling too. Honestly, I'm not gonna go through them as what's the point?

Otherwise -

Webb was very lucky not to get binned, but still not a penalty try as he knocked it on a fair way off from the line.

The two first half yellows were ridiculous. Both penalties and nothing more.

I saw that and had to laugh. Clearly a yellow card offense for me if we hadn't scored (or maybe regardless), but hey ho.

The ref was brilliant.
He helped the game flow and kept the players honest. I thought he was excellent.
The yellow cards were fair.
The Scots bombed so many opportunities, none of which were the fault of the referee.
The Welsh were classy and composed for long periods under pressure, a sign of an experienced unit.
Jamie Roberts was immense again.
Scotland were worth their entry ticket price.
Best game of the 6 Nations so far, a real cracker.

1. I don't believe the ball did go forward.
2. Doesn't matter as the penalty was given for the high tackle which was the cause of the ball going forward (which it didn't).
3. Even if he had been 5 meters closer to the try line it wouldn't change the fact the high tackle stopped what would have been a clear try.

Agree there, in the second half he really made warren ball actually work.

Roberts was better than Wyn Jones for sure, bizarre choice of MOTM in my opinion. Hogg was the stand out player on the pitch.

Webb's tackle was a penalty, but it would be very difficult to give a penalty try as there were two other defenders tracking back who may have stopped him. Looking forward to Scrum V to see it again.

I also felt that JD was tackled without the ball in Webb's try and in any other outcome other than a try is a yellow card for taking the man without the ball. Justifying it by saying "I tackled him because he was blocking" is not a good excuse.

Like I said. I have massive respect for Scotland, more so than most years, but they were as much their own worst enemy as the ref was. I thought Wales were very good at the breakdown and under the high ball in the second half and that was probably the difference.

Nope. That was a clear penalty. No qualms about that one.

Wyn Jones always plays to a high standard and i thought he was exceptional again, but i agree Roberts was Wales' best player (but only in the second half) and Hogg was brilliant, a real pain in our defensive arse the whole game.

Halfpenny was my choice for MotM. Supreme defense in the first half, when Scotland were pressing. As always, great receiving kicks.
Roberts did his job, and that try from Foxy was the most 'Foxy' thing he has done since late 2013.

Liam Williams was good, Cuthbert ran but was headless. At least we are getting the ball out to our wings...
Webb doesn't offer control. Little breaks and all, but not someone who can take control. Biggar dependable and consistent.

Tipuric was as always a lively addition, he simply isn't on Gatland's list though.

Gotta agree with this.

I'll agree to disagree with the rest of you I suppose!

Roberts really didn't play that well, far more impressed by the Scottish midfield, most especially Bennet.
Commanding performance for Wales in the air though, their back three and Biggar claimed all the high balls.
Poor decision making and kicking from Russel (missed to kick two crucial penalty kicks into touch...).
Scotland should have won the game, but for their carelessness or the referee, really unlucky today, even Cotter seemed fed up, which is quite telling for such an usually stone-faced coach.

AWJ had a fine game, but Roberts was on another planet in the second half and particularly after Scotland took of his opposite number who was injured.
Roberts grabbed that game by the scruff of the neck and scragged it until the final whistle.
That kid on the wing, Liam? He made more impact than George North on any given day.
I'd drop the lump on the other wing, bring back North and play this Liam kid again, he has pace and a step
