Just reading the Rugby Paper, and Williams (Shane) was convinced they were robbed, a disallowed try, even converted would've only gave them 4 more points (as they took the 3). It might of galvanised Wales as much as England to improve during the game. Its a talking point for sure, but it does not define the game

Agreed - great slow-mo there.
Live I thought there was enough to cast doubt on both the knock-on and the grounding - I'd still have given it though - and been proven wrong with this.

Honestly I was surprised they moved so quickly on the knock on it didn't look conclusive to me at all.
I assumed it was my bias.
Still don't think on the replays that it was clear and obvious he grounded the ball. It was one of those calls if it was any reason to not award the try would of gone the other way I suspect.

People keep posting stills of his hand with pressure downwards on the ball which is besides the point, because in my mind its about whether he had continuous control before grounding it - I've no doubt at all he got there first no the issue.
I should say my opinion is replays at the time which is what the TMO had to go by. Subesequent replays and zoomed images will always be better but the TMO doesnt have the luxury.
Downward pressure is enough according to the grounding the ball laws posted above. Control is only required if there is no downward pressure.
Yeah, what I meant was whether he knocked it on before he had downwards pressure.
The funny thing is that both scrum v and Wales Online seem to brought up by people outside of Wales much more than from us... those guys marketing is on point!
I really don't feel you could confidently call it either way. It's a grey area one which would have been a different outcome with a different question.

That's only because to everyone in Wales what they say on Scrum 5 and wales online seems sensible, not really worth discussing.
I actually like scrum v and they can be as critical of Wales and the WRU as anyone outside of Wales... the fact that it’s a Welsh show about the national game aimed at Welsh people obviously dictates the overall pro-Wales narrative and rightly so.

Yeah it has its good points but it feels very petty a lot of the time. They're also pretty creative with how they use the time - if the seniors lose and the women win, they'll devote more time to the latter. If the U20's win and the other two lose, they do the same. If all three teams lose they'll find some variation of the game in which they won - wheelchair rugby being brought in is not unheard of. Which is fine but the show doesn't NEED to be a propaganda exercise for Welsh Rugby; if you lose. just deal with it.
I think everyone knows what WalesOnline is in the same way you won't find many people with double figures of braincells talking about what's being reported in The Sun.

quick genuine question aimed at welsh fans .Would you rather have the extra point the 4th try against Scotland gave you even though the tmo missed a glaring forward pass ,or the extra 2-4 points the disallowed try would have given you yesterday. For what its worth I thought it was a definite try , grounding looked ok to me , but just seen super slo mo of the ball coming off hand not knee so no try.
Exactly, with WO you can't see it as any different from any of our tabloids, and for matter a couple of the 'broadsheets'.

Cracking game, proper Six Nations stuff. Cold, wet, drizzling and miserable conditions, injury ravaged and playing the England juggernaut at Twickenham.
Welsh defence was really good, handling was excellent and we could have nicked it at the end. I thought we were fitter, and to be under the cosh for 60 minutes and then come back so strongly in the last 20 was testament to that. Anscombe made a real difference at fly half.
I thought that the disallowed try should have been given, and it would have altered the game but not necessarily meant we would have won.
England were excellent, with a superb kicking game. Everything we did for 60 minutes was behind the gain line. Farrell and Ford ran the game mostly.
Well done England. Well done Wales too as that was a proper Test match. Our 6 Nations challenge is not over yet!
