LOL why is everyone so hung up on who the pundits and commentators are - just turn the mute on! You guys will only rip them to bits during and after the game anyways. Its the game and more to the point, the RESULT that counts.
Uhhh because I prefer to not watch a game deafening silence?

Know it’ll be unpopular around here but my ideal team would be Jiff, Guscott and Paul O’Connell in the studio and Brian Moore and Butler on the mics... maybe it’s just famiarity over quality but I like the fact that they bring some persanilty to proceedings (whether I actually like all of their personalities or not).

Having it off with who?I don't mind the biased Jiff, or Moore, or Butler. They're fans of Rugby and they show their passion and support for their nation. And if it annoys me they've done their job, wouldn't change them. I'd bin Inverdale tho, he's a complete smug tosspeice!
I could listen to Johnny Wilkinson talk for hours though, his insight shows how driven he was to succeed.
Yeah not the biggest Inverdale fan but who else is there... I like Cotter, maybe he could do a great job as the presenter. Would miss him on the mic though.
Fair on Wilko, for a robot brought back through time to change the fate of English rugby and behind his extremely reserved demeanour... he does see some interesting things and communicates them well.

I think listening to Wilkinson is comparable to watching paint dry. Why use 1000 words when 50 will do? Yeah he's deep but he needs to remember that not everyone listening to him is as deep - consequentially not all those listening to him knows what the f*** he's talking about. But I wont mute him
As much as I love Alfie and Shane Williams for that matter... I just don’t think they’re great TV unless their actually playing rugby. They just seem to reel off a load of generic stuff spliced with a cliche every now and then. As a Welshman, Jiff, Eddie and Nugget are the best Welsh pundits. Warburton has been okay too... more of an ITV flavour with him though.

The great bald one is terrible as a pundit. All the bloody time he says how great England are doing, even when we are being battered.

It’s funny, as I like a lot of the BT team, but ITV haven’t signed them all up, just cherry picked.
That's my general preferred commentary team I'm not a huge fan of Butler but their partnership works well enough and its telling it wasn't changed for YEARS. However the last few BBC broadcast Wales v England games they've added Jiffy in who becomes domineering over the mic (Moore barely gets a word in) and he just goes WALES WALES WALES with a lack of insight.
You can say many things about Moore (pedantry) but he always bought in an insight and never was that particularly biased to one side or another.

Can't argue Shane Williams as a player. But I don't know, sometimes he comes across as almost English in his arrogance. I know I know I'll get slated for that, but its how I see it.

Ha ha I doubt that he wishes it at all. No-one would want to achieve english levels of arrogance, that's just ludicrous. Its just in flashes its there. Maybe seeing that he isn't English and therefore a cell level arrogance, maybe he could be cured, or something.
