Transfers rumours

He doesn't think he'll be featuring for England ahead of others anyway.

This - or he's not overly fussed about his international career after that point - is the key imo.

I think there's going to be a lot of players who, post World Cup, reckon that's them done with England. They'll reckon they won't make the next one, won't stay in the squad ahead of young bucks that will. Sure, they might grab a few more caps, but what's that in the grand course of things for people who've done plenty internationally already. To me, that means a lot of players who might reckon going abroad for a change of pace, change of lifestyle, fill up the bank balance, is a no-lose proposition.

Feel post-World Cup could be when we see the floodgates open in terms of losing AP players.

Who in this England team won't make the next world cup on age?

By my reckoning the only guys with unrealistic chances are Parling, Haskell, Wigglesworth, Brown, Foden and Waldrom (who'll be collecting his bus pass before this world cup).

Gopperth --> Cockroaches

i'd be happy with that.

Lee Dickson and Stephen Myler can both be added to that list. Ashton will be 31 by next World Cup, which is pushing it for a winger, particularly one who looks like he's on the way out anyway. Tom Johnson I guess, if he's in the reckoning. Hask, Brown and Foden can be removed - but Foden looks on the way out anyway. Hask was never really that in with Lancaster. David Paice is pretty old, come to think of it.

Then you get all the guys who are outside the reckoning but might have been hanging on but might now feel it's over - Strettle, Allen, Varndell etc.etc. - guys whose going wouldn't hurt England, but would hurt out clubs, at least for a bit.

I think Foden lost his focus on rugby a couple of years ago... Think he'd prefer to be a really, really goodlooking male model in all honesty.

I think his injuries have more to do with it. He is really coming back on form though, but he won't make the next World Cup.

Yeah i get the AP guys, my question was more about the EPS.

You go through the EPS and only two or three guys are going to top 34 - Foden, Myler, Haskell, Brown.

I don't think this EPs will be that decimated to be honest.

It won't be decimated by age, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see a fairly thorough overhaul. There is just too much young talent for us not to.

Of course, of the current squad wins in 2015 then it'll be very different.

I'm not too sure about Brown leaving tbh - not saying he wont, but I don't think it's a dead cert by any means - I think Quins will be very keen on keeping him, and I'd imagine he'd be quite loyal.
The Quins setup is very tight-knit... as long as they can offer him something reasonably competitive he'll stay, I reckon.

I've said it before and I will say it again. We will get to the Final of 2015 and lose to SA or NZ. But we will win the 2019 World Cup because some of the youngsters coming through are exceptional!

Depends on how good he is in the 6 nations and world cup. Halfpenny was amazing which got Toulons attention, now he is on around 400k. Brown is more exciting and that could drive up his price as he would be used like an advertising expense by a club like Clermont who love getting older fullbacks, he wont be on 400k I would guess but he wouldn't be far off is he keeps playing like he did. Do you know of a rough figure of what he's on now ?

In the 2015 WC we will get knocked out in the semi final.

Ma'a Nonu => RC.Toulon. They've been on his ass for a while, I imagine they must've made him some heck of a deal for him to accept !! Apparently he's signed the contract already, but just to be sure I'm posting this here in the rumours (the people in the rooms). Source: Canal + Rugby division.

Supposedly the journo misheard Ma'a Nonu... it's actually Manoa.

Genuinely - was rumored a few weeks ago.

that's right actually. What a fuccking farce, from a pro journalist....it is confirmed it was a mistake and it's indeed Manoa the American lock coming over next season. However, it is confirmed and shouldn't be on this thread any longer.
