Transfers rumours

Nowhere in France want him?
Can't see us signing him, as we've brought in Hines. Gloucester have got Galarza and Palmer on their way, too. Not Nots have got Leo and Cox coming, as well.
Maybe, if LW get promoted tonight, he could go there?

I know sarries were in talks with him and he signed for Toulon we've just signed Hamilton but sarries have said they've got one more significant singing to announce so could it be Evans??

I just heard that he was looking at the premiership after he was rejected by Toulon.

I doubt Sarries would be after another lock - they've already got Kruis and Itoje to bring through.

I really like kruis not rated enough in my opinion but he has played 6 before and there has been talks of moving him to 6 permanently and Botha hasn't really got long left a season maybe but London welsh is a good shout but could they pay him the money he's going to want?

Irish have now got wealthy backers - not quite as wealthy as your Saffer billionaire, mind... but rich enough.

True there isn't anyone who is as rich as him but no major benefit with the cap! Irish I can't really see could even be Bristol maybe if they can over turn the first leg with Ryan jones there could be having a word in his ear

He is of benefit when it comes to team excursions and jobs in the city though. ;)

Sarries go on team holidays and get work experience/help starting businesses/education.
The holidays aren't exactly day trips to Blackpool either...

That's not a criticism - because they are very good ideas for morale... but they cost money - money that not all clubs can afford.

Oh rite yea I know they do the October fest or something but people slate them for doing it but as you said helps team morale and teams just get a bit jealous nothing against the rules teams should try doing similar things that they can afford obviously

Much as Sarries make me grumpy, I don't think anyone can deny that they really look after their players*.

*Mako Vunnipola playing the Premiership final with a dislocated knee being the exception.

It's not jelousy, really.

The whole point of the cap is to ensure that clubs are on a relatively level playing field monetarily.
If a club is spending a large amount of cash directly on their players outside the cap (which trips to New York and African Safaris are) then that is effectively cheating the cap.

I'm not really offended by it - but it's one of the draws for players and it is only possible because you have a very rich backer.
This is also ignoring the numerous allegations of (several) clubs cheating the cap in the more traditional way.

I'm really surprised he played with that if he had that going into the game! But as for the trips at the end if the day they aren't breaking any rules if it were in the rules of the cap then I would be agreeing with you I honestly believe the cap is far too low it needs to be raised to compete with France and allegations are all well and good and if teams are indeed cheating or breaking the rules of the cap then people should come forward with proof and if there true teams should be punished

And if a club is more financially better off than another should they be punished for that or limited?/held back? I wouldn't like to see it end up like football I believe it would take the integrity from the game just being about money and you look at the state of the French national team Toulon a great side but only 2 or 3 French players started the Heineken final where as sarries had like 10 England capped players things need to be reviewed tho I think

Yea I think he actually dislocated it during the game against Toulon Stevens and barrington started the game against Northampton I think

Ah my bad, I watch the game in a beer soaked haze and thought I'd seen Mako.

London Welsh promoted just now, so expect to see some rumours going there way soon. Will be interesting to see what happens to the guys who have signed for Bristol such as Peel and Perenise.

Peel will still go, definitely. They've offered him a route into coaching there, and that's what he wants to do post rugby.
Perenise I'm not sure....He's had a great season for Bath and could get into most sides.
Can't see Morgan and Lam wanting to play 2nd tier rugby though, especially with Morgan on the fringes of the Welsh squad now.

Maybe we could see Irish or Welsh making a move for Morgan want with Noakes being injured all the time.
Lam well he is a huge hitter can see clubs lining up to sign him if he does go.
Perenise i'm not sure as well.
But that is if they have contract clauses.

I'd take Evans at the NGD on a CC. I'd prefer Charteris given the choice though...
Wonder if Ryan has a clause in his Bris contract.
