Transfers rumours

Keep your hands off Steff. That's a good lad.

Yeah, would have been a long shot anyway, and Wasps already have a young and developing player in Tommy Bell. Honestly, Sale must be really regretting letting the Bell brothers go...

What would you have said to Goode ---> Dragons?

We didn't let Tommy Bell go, he chose to go :p Offered him a big contract n shiz, but he wanted to move to Wasps.
Can't blame him - though he'd have had more game time with us, I think (unless he's been injured a lot at Wasps?).

Depends, were Sale seeing him as a 15? Wasps are treating him as our main fly-half development prospect for 1 or 2 seasons time. He's played a bit there but most often in the easier amlin games. Robinson has been the preferred 10, since Stephen Jones has been injured most of the season. He's also apparently looking for coaching jobs, so may not be around much longer.

He'd have been 2nd choice 15, 3rd choice 10, but being groomed to be 1st choice 10 down the line - similar situation to Wasps, I imagine.

Sounds like it, although he'd be further back in the 15 choices, as I think people are quite worried about Jack Wallace being crowded out at the moment.

On that note, thers one good thing about Goode to Wasps if true(in additon to the fact that I like him as a player anyway): We'd have a 10 who can kick well from tee and from hand to control the game, which would lessern the need for Southwell at 15, who at the moment is our best tactician but offers little else. Then Daly, Bell and Wallace can fight it out for the full-back spot.

Getting a bit mixed up Feic? He's an outside back can't remener him ever playing 10.

Probably. But all Aussie's can play 10 ;)

Yes, thinking about it now he's very good at 13 right? That'd be handy considering...

AAC is best at 15, imo.
Damned good 13, though, and also goes well on the wing.

Really? He isn't quick enough for my type of fullback, and he is pretty well built, so he can ride through tackles.
Either way, I struggle to think a team where he wouldn't make the 23, and possibly the 15.

Just going off his appearances at various positions, I've always thought he looked best at 15 - especially for the Wallabies. Then Beale/JOC came onto the scene and he moved around from there.

If you take him I will create a war against france...

Hey hey don't blame me for that one (if it happens)...................Biarritz have hardly recuited a decent player of any nationality in years and need at least 6 and maybe 10!!

It'd make sense for Trimble. Odds are he isn't going to get back into the Ireland team much anymore, with the emergence of Zebo and Gilroy, as well as the like of Fitzgerald, McFadden, Earls and Bowe all knocking about. Then at provincial level there's a serious danger he wont start in the big games any more, thanks to Bowe, Gilroy and Payne. I could understand completely why he'd take the money he could get doing a few years in France.

That said, I'd never have put Trimble down as the type to go abroad.
