Transfers rumours

Trimble is too clean cut to move. But I think he could really benefit like Bowe did from getting out for a while.

Bit late in his career for that kind of move I reckon. Bowe made his move when Ulster were at a bit of a low, to a side that played a more expansive brand of rugby, and most importantly when he was still young enough to change his game up a lot. Trimble is 28 and playing for a very good Ulster team, I dunno if it's an equatable situation.

I don't know I never rated him good enough for Ireland yet he reaches these magnificent levels of form in White. I think he has the goods and has the talent just the new challenge will maybe give him bit of bite. I think the tax deal doesn't effect him so he doesn't have to return and add in I presume ATM he is centrally contracted but when renewals come he won't be unless he is only provincial at moment so money in France will be 5/6 times his deal here. Sexton deal is the tester though and if he does well in France there will be planeful of lads out after him. I'm surprised we held off Toulouse for Zebo (who's father is French and Simon himself fluent)

Be an odd signing for Leinster (I.e. a big side like them should be able to attract better) and not to mention a real kick in the nuts for Newcastle when they offered him a 3 year contract before relegation and Deano rebuilt around him.

I think Leinster are caught in who they can attract. The willingness is to bring in somebody who can provide cover for Ian Madigan. No top class player will want to come to play second fiddle. Gopperth may fancy a chance to challenge for trophies and he'll get a lot of starts given how Leinster rotate their squad. The other names mentioned as far as I recall were Olly Barkley, Gareth Steenson and Felipe Contepomi.

It is tough on Newcastle if true although I suspect they were surprised he stayed with them this season and didn't try jump ship once they were relegated.

Carlisle must be ****** - thinks he can finally get out of Goode's considerable shadow and get some decent game time at 10, only to have him move to the same club

Seemingly ROG set to retire and Munster possibly set to loose Wian Du Preez in offset of keeping BJ and whispers of Tom Taylor Robbie Fruean or Sean Maitland coming

Richard Hill is apparently not retaining Blair Cowans contract, in my opinion that confirms that the man is insane, Blair Cowan in my opinion is the most underrated number 8 in the premiership he is such a complete player and deserves to be at a premiership team and can provide cover in all 3 backrow positions. Apparently he could be going back to the pirates which is such a shame because he deserves to be playing for a top division team just watch his game agaisnt gloucester and wasps... Hill can **** off... Rant over

Scott "Gibbs" Williams to the Blues.

Owen Williams from Scarlets to Tigers.

Opening up the space for Gareth Owen ;)

On a more serious note. That would be a good signing for the Blues imo. Scott Williams still has a lot going for him, and anything that limits Gavin Evans' game time is only a good thing.

Owen Williams from Scarlets to Tigers.

Nooooo. He looks like a quality prospect.

Don't worry, Owen has played for the U20's against France, so he is legally Welsh.
The only issue with Scott Williams going, besides him being a substandard centre, is that it will push Owen Williams (centre, Blues) and Allen further away.
I'd take Owen Williams (standoff, Turks->Tiggers) at the Dragons, but that would surprise no one.

Can't see Maitland coming and doing a 'Flutey' after getting capped by Scotland. Munster really need a few centers though.

Is Howlett signed for next season too?

But with Roberts leaving, it would basically take their tally of good centres to 3, Scott Williams, Cory Allen and Owen Williams. Scott has elements of his game to improve, namely his passing, but the rest of his game is of a pretty high standard. There are plenty worse centres playing in the league.

As for Owen Williams the Scarlets 10, I think he's got a good opportunity to develop at the Scarlets. Aled Thomas is a very ordinary player, and there's no guarantee that Priestland will ever re-discover form. I could see Williams quite quickly becoming their first choice if he continues to improve, whereas he could just be completely forgotten about in Leicester.
