Transfers 2015/16

Aye, it does. Would rather not lose anyone at all, but it was an insane stockpile and better him gone than most others.

He will get chances here too and probably has stronger chance of European rugby.

Also in wrong thread but rumour is Henshaw staying with Connacht

If people want to criticize David Nucifora for the likes of Ian Madigan and Marty Moore leaving the Irish system, they must also recognize that Sam Arnold to Munster is precisely the sort of move the Australian was brought in for. A talented young centre moves from one province where there's a backlog to another where there's a pressing need. Good signing. He should see a good whack of game time.

Thing is Snoop Nucifora didn't orchestrate it. He was informed he was being released and we went in. Yes he had knowledge but it was Munster who made first move.

It just seems to me that he gets all the blame when a player moves abroad and none of the credit when a young player moves province!

Leaving that aside, it's a good move for Irish rugby whoever instigated it. It would have been great for Irish rugby if the IRFU stumped up and saw both Ian Madigan and Marty Moore move to Munster too! There's a lot of wastage in the system here with average players who'll never be more than bit part players for their provinces having contracts. That money could be better spent on youth (such as the Arnold transfer which will see him get more game time to Ireland's benefit) and keeping internationals here (Moore and Madigan).

London Irish are making a big push for the Premiership ***le. They've just signed Jerry Sexton on loan from Exeter Chiefs and Ian Nagle from Cambridge.

Been honest I'd have loved both to come but Moore I think is better to leave because he has a poor injury record and time away may help.
Madigan is hard one. Yes he'd make us better and would be better than Keatley. But we'd need time sorting his kicking game and it may be hard for him to do it in limelight of media/fans here who'll over analyse him. And that's if he even wanted to come.
I agree with your comments at end though. Like it's known here now we have to scout the schools in Ulster and Leinster a lot more tactically as they are much more resourceful but in a way that means we approach of we have no guys for those positions in our own system.
I do believe the AIL needs to be learning curve again too. You learn more in those games than A interprovincial games.

Well he gets none of the credit because it never happens. I don't blame him for letting Moore and Madigan go, I blame him for being ineffectual and a waste of money. This is the type of move we needed though.
Wouldn't be too impressed with those LI signings. Sexton wasn't even particularly good at SC level, just struck me as big, strong and dumb (he kicked me out of a cake sale when I was 14. Prick) and was blessed to make the La Rochelle academy before getting a look in at Exeter, where to be fair he got some plaudits and Nagle never made the cut at Munster really. Both are lucky to be professional rugby players.

Of all the reasons to hate a rugby player, that one wins.

Is he the academy lad?

Never heard of him.

Although I think I saw him at the Tiger V Sale LV cup game last season?

He looked good then stood up well against our academy lads big future ahead I reckon.

Nah, I'm not a Bath or Tigers fan so I actually have two eyes.
I'm also not married to my sister and don't have six fingers and webbed feet.

Olyy starting line up for England would be the Sale team is he had it his way ;)

Not possible - surely that Viking guy is already capped for Denmark?

It's these ridiculous IRB residency rules, just because you arrive on the windswept north-east coast and pillage your way inland to Manchester doesn't mean you should qualify for England.
