The Official Gavin Henson Thread

One of my friends mates went and he said that Manu hit was late, first min and all. He carried on for another 33 until the medical staff said enough was enough.

Big blow for London Welsh.

Read on the London Welsh forums that the Scarlets crowd jeered every time he stopped to get treatment - would like to see them play half hour of rugby with a caved in face

I think that will always follow Gav wherever he goes. People will jeer him at any point.

Turks still get off at Henson getting red carded ten years ago.

Slow day for the Mirror then ...

Hardly a crime.

Nothing wrong with that...I probably did worse stuff last night on my 2 hour drinking session! Always frustrates me how they bring up that 2007 so called 'abuse' after the Quins game, yet always neglect to mention that he didn't actually do anything wrong? A family of O's supporters vouched that it was his mates and not him being dickheads.

Although Katie Price, really Gav? Standards mate!

Here's one:
Do you think Gavin will play for Wales again? Not would you pick him, should he be there, etc; will he get capped again?

If he continues to run the show at London Welsh then with Wales current issue with Fly Halves then there is a good chance he will get a call up.

For LW he's been good, was a litte rusty at the start but he's doing the basics well for them.

I haven't seen any of LWs matches this season, but he seems to be doing a decent job for them. I believe Robert Howley has said that he needs a season of rugby to be considered. Possible candidate for the Japan tour? (Could we also see Patchell or Shingler tour?)

Also, Rhys Patchell had better be prepared to be the 'new' Nipper. I anticipate him being named by many as our next next next future outside half.

I'd potentially take him on the Japan tour if he keeps it up. take him Patchell and Nipper see how the latter two fare internationally.. See if Gav performs etc. For "full" Wales team I'd say if current #10s go down the crapper he could make the AI's on the bench.. Biggar start with Gav 10,12,13,15 cover. But you never know will have to wait and see.

From what I've seen of him at LW he has been fairly solid, with a couple of very nice moments. Nothing to get hysterical about but certainly enough to dispell the notion he is past it. Now all he has to do is stay injury free and not get kicked out of the club...

Who's gonna be taking the Japan tour with Gatland and Howley in the Lions? I'm assuming Edwards will end up with the Lions too.
So all depends whoevers at the helm feeling like Gav is the right fit. Could draft in Lyn Jones as a caretaker? :p Of all the Welsh coaches around he's the one I'd have liked to see as national coach.

Rumours that Edwards could miss out on the Lions gig, with Rowntree going.
McBryde coached the 2009 North American tour.
