Whats The Green Lantern like? Never seen that film yet.
It's okay. Has a lot of room for improvement. At least there's some eye-candy too.

Has anyone seen 'Noah' by Aronofsky? I saw it a week ago but would like to hear what other0s thought of it,.' bm

It's a no-go soEven as a massive Ryan Reynolds fan, I have to say it's pretty damn boring. It just kind of passes you by and there's nothing to it. There was a lot of stupid decisions in the production in it. It's pretty much the reason DC have made the decision to stop with the jokes and make even Superman a dark, gritty movie.
Haha! I see you are also drawn by DSTV Box office.
I watched it last week too.
I enjoyed the movie, I know my grandfather would turn around in his conservative-Dutch-Reformed-Church-Minister grave, if he saw it, but I liked the movie.
it was a creative look at the Bible, and the aspects regarding the story of Noah, his sons and the Marked of Kain.
LOL, I'd probably side with your grandfather on the side of caution. I enjoyed the film somewhat though it's not really very stimulating which is what I want from a dark/heavy film. My problem with the movie is that it is not clear (is Aronofsky ever though?!) in its intentions and I fear people not well versed in scripture would think that it is based on the bible. My hope is that it might make people curious as to what the bibe actually says and I'm not talking about Genesis in isolation; I think it is critical to know the bible in it's entirety.
There are just sooo many elements to the movie- and most of them very subtle- that just totally fly against the message contained in scripture. Actually, anyone who has read Anton Lavey's satanic bible will find a lot more similarities; God portrayed as 1) a jealous god and 2) a man with a stick walking behind people looking to beat them when they err and 3) not able to fully let his will be known/executed (note the lower case), the 'watchers'' sympathy with man, man as god in his own right etc etc.
Well, I watched it with my wife, who wasn't brought up in a church environment, and only found religion when she met me, thought that it had nearly nothing that resembled the script in the Bible, apart from the Genesis which Russel Crowe recited to the children in the movie. She thought the movie was terrible. My dad, who is a staunch conservative "Hervormer" refuses to even watch the movie.
Yes, it is far removed from the bible. For purely watching a movie for the hell of it (LOL), I think it's fine if you can seperate the two. In fact it can be a good excersize in discernment. I am not sure most people will be able to seperate the two though, not fully.

Yeh i'm a huge Reynolds fan (buried was a great film), but the Green Lantern was so poor.
Actually why has there not been a Deadpool movie!?! He's the single most badass and funniest comic book character going. And he's insane literally
Would love for there to be a 15/18 Deadpool film.
In other news Shazam (Captain Marvel) movie is all but confirmed and the Rock is playing Black Adam.
mixed feelings here wanted Johnson to play the Green Lantern, but glad the film is being made.
Did you see the concept footage of Deadpool that leaked? It looked pretty cool. It was animated but just been used to pitch to producers. Reynolds did the voice work. The main problem getting it off the ground is it's rating. Reynolds and the creative team are insistent on an "r" rating and most execs think that'd be too risky.
