The Movie Thread

Captain Phillips was a pretty good film, I'd probably give it 7/10 - if it wasn't for the fact it was based on a true story I don't know if I'd rate it that highly, some parts just seemed a bit flat.

Wahlberg? I simply think he is a poor actor. Don't know the bloke, but he comes off so one dimensional in films.

Maybe a lot of it has to do with the role he's constantly cast in, the predictable action type flick that's only good for wasting a couple of hours. That was more my point with my comment above, although I've seen little evidence of him being a 'good actor' myself.

Movie I'm looking forward to the most this year is GODZILLA (not atheistzilla. SUCK IT ATHEISTS)

Just watched the remake of Red Dawn. I think it's the only movie I've seen recently that makes 'A Good Day to Die Hard' look good.
Awful awful awful movie, should be hunted down by the original movie and beaten with a stick!

Hi All,

I'm trying to find a video my dad once had and lost.

I believe the name was bulldog's best fights.

Does anyone know who hosted this video and where i can find one?

Watched Captain Phillips at the weekend - amazing film, quite gripping and great acting! Recommend!

Watched 'World War Z'. Was expecting a lame film but was quite surprised by just how bad it was. Particularly Pitts acting; I'd be surprised if there were any re-takes done.

Yep think all the messing about with the script killed it imo. the original script sounded so much better.

I'll have to go look for it; didn't know there was more to it.

The book is brilliant, it really is. The film suffered greatly from the re-writes and the fact they made the "zombies" super fast animalistic the book is sheer weight of numbers that makes them so deadly.

I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty the other day. A beautiful film overall and probably went under the radar amongst the nominees this year.

New Captain America: Great. New Muppets: Not as good as the last film, but great. New Hercules: Good god. It's bad.

Chat room

Ok, so i said - to whom, i have no idea - that if/when the first thread reaches 1,000 posts then i'll start another thread entirely.

So if you want to continue your verbal ************ of Daniel Day Lewis (Cyril? Speedy?); If you want to have a go at Hostel and Saw and their tedious sequels; Or if you're Charlie and you want to announce that you're gay to the entire forum again by stating that, not only did you watch Sex and the City...but you also enjoyed it then please feel free to.

Otherwise, continue as before...

Hi I'm new here someone please keep me up to date and my name is Caleb

I quite enjoyed World War Z. The way the book was written, there was no way they could actually copy it, so the idea of following one person through it, was quite good. I still jump with the motorbike cop, even though I've seen it several times.

Being an amateur pilot (among other things) I would, however, love to know who plotted the 'flight plan' from Israel to Cardiff, that incorporated the plane flying over Snowdonia!

The book Thief, in Belgium it got a lot of negative comments but I really enjoyed the movie. Last week I also saw 12 years a slave.
