The Movie Thread

The Brotherhood of War: Korean movie with Subtitles, quite possibly my fave war movie, I'm not ashamed to admit that every time I watch it it makes me cry, it's damn sad and terrifically done, more violent than Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers combined so be wary if you aren't into war violence with over 15,000 extras crashing into each other, it's set during the Korean War. 10/10

I've heard nothing but good stuff about that movie. I've heard people call it the movie of the year, the best sci-fi movie of the decade and the best movie of all time, yet I have a gut feeling that I'm going to be disappointed. Expectations remain rock-bottom by me, so hopefully I should be pleasantly surprised.

Watched G.I Joe it was alright movie alot of crap blowing up if you're into that sort of thing. I was only a kid when the original was on tv but to be honest I can't really remember much about it just that they were a bunch of merc type yanks that wanted to destroy everything.

The special effects are awesome and all the weaponary they come up with is cool. A entertaining movie if you're into action/sci fi films it kept me happy for the hour and 50min it was on so no complaints here.

Great movie of all time

This movie does not bother me even if watched 1000 times a day

Wouldn't call it the best movie of all time there but pretty solid.

Inglorious Basterds.
Was pretty disappointed to bo honest. Seemed like just a random bunch of scenes loosely tied together. Tarantino dialogue to beat the band and hardcore gore porn to boot. Could have been much better in my op.

Yesterday got to see about 20 minutes of James Cameron's Avatar at the Avatar day screening, looks absolutely fantastic. Cannot wait for this come December

The Unborn - complete shambles of mixed ideas and notions. 4/10, though there was something about the movie that was magic ;)

Gran Torino.

Very good movie. Manages to get the balance just right: some decent humour, warming character relationships, Clint Eastwood with a gun threatening to destroy people... His performance is worthy of note, aswell.

Not very dramatic though, and the ending was one of the least satisfying things I have ever seen. 8/10

harry potter 6, kinda disappointed in what they chose to keep in from the book =/

also, they are filming movies where i live. The next twilight movie (god get them out of my province! :wall: ), and also some movie with zac efron in it. -__-

Saw 2 last night;

300- Wowee, delightfully gory but not OTT and brilliatntly shot witch a cracking score.
Wanted- Insane stunts, sight of Angelina Jolies rear :D but a totally crazy plot. Good to waste an hour or two just for the action.

I've just watched The Dictator by Charlie Chaplin. I saw it years ago as a kid. I tell you what it was shot in 1940, there's no CG's, not fancy stuff, but it's a f***ing masterpiece.
Great movie.

Great movie.[/b]

Doesnt Chaplin just go around kicking people in the arse?

Chinatown. Confused me for the most part. A lot of changes in the plot's direction, but if you can overcome that then it is a fantastic movie. The final hour of the movie is relentless, and the climax is one of the best you'll see. Loved Dunaway's character. 9/10.

Miracle.

About the USA Ice Hockey team's win at Lake Placid. One of the great sporting films.
