You could have done with a player like S. Armitage last night. He is the one player that would have competed in your backrow that was eaten alive.

Yes, it seems incredibly unlikely but money talks louder than ever after literally 'THE worst world cup ever' scenario that has just played out as far as the RFU is concerned. Gats contract is until 2019 and I would hate to lose him but he as England coach seems a perfect marriage to me. If successful with an England side, it would also boost his chances at getting a big gig back home one day. Something he was disappointed not to find available prior to signing an extension with the WRU.
Do you think the RFU would push the boat out to get Gats?

Ben Youngs takes 1/2 on each pass which takes up time limits the flat runner & cuts space. A bloody awful display & worth sacking.

Burgess FFS send him on the next ship to finish his life on the RL chain gang. As bad a RL experiment as Barry-Jon Mather but more expensive so obviously?
Graham Rowentree the scrum maestro? Well sacked as that is a scrum in each game got worse, gave away penalties & failed with subs even to man-up
Why Danny Care, Marlon Yard or Slade were not used is beyond me. Terrible team choice terrible use of subs.

Steady on you'll be labeled a troll for having opinions like that, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. I have been accused of having no knowledge of English rugby, I would argue that anyone who doesn't think S Armitage and Abendenon would improve England have absolutely no knowledge of French rugby.
Best of luck to France, I would love to see a Wales France final.

Have fun constantly losing then buddy. Face it: Southern Hemisphere coaches are far superior, and will no doubt improve a teams performance.

I'd like to see some Northern Hemisphere coaches in Super Rugby.
I should maybe point out here that England haved won 60% of their matches under Lancaster whereas Wales have only won 52% of their matches under Gatland. Ireland did even worse under Gatland, winning just 47% of their matches under him.

England need to wipe the slate entirely clean of coaching staff have a big clear out of playing deadwood.
If I was given the job I'd cut all but maybe 1 or 2 players over the age of 28.
That means Webber, Wilson, Wood, Parling, Robshaw, Easter, Care, Wigglsworth and Brown all gone.
The Extended elite player group (or whatever it's called) needs to got ridden off and a small tightly knit group of individuals need to be developed together in a family type environment.
There is a spine of a team in the current squad that you could use as the foundation for a really young Team that could grow together over the next Four years. All of the players brought in should be 26 or under.
I'd have Haskell as Captain at no6 as he's a Highly inteligent guy, a natural socialite and I think he'd be perfectly suited to a role in developing Young players at the right hand of the head coach. He could skipper the team until an agreed 2 year period where a suitable successor is chosen for the 2019 World Cup.
All this talk of the Armitiges and Hartleys, Simpsons and Ciprianis has to stop, England have been majestic in the U20 competitions. The New coach needs utilise the obvious talent comming through the youth systems.

Well this made me chuckle, titled "Is this the England XV Lancaster didn't have the guts to pick?"
Featuring such gems as Chris Ashton on the left wing, the injured Lawes at second row and best of all, "A Goode" at fly-half. Can't decide whether they mean Andy or Alex, or indeed, which would be a worse call
EDIT to add: Who do you think could come straight into XV or XXIII for England's first Six Nations match and expect to hold a place? I'm thinking mainly from recent Junior World Cup sides.

Winning big games is far more important than an overall winning percentage. I just think that with the resources available with England Gats would have gotten you out of the group (@ the expense of Wales).
Just stop conservatism, accept coaches from outside england, remove stupid law so u can select everyone. That some are defending this law burns my brain, its the most stupid rule ever made in a pro sport. Then again, its managed by old amateurs.
