Super Rugby: Reds vs. Blues in Brisbane (26/04/2013)

And in typical NZ team fashion, they've ****ed it up with a penalty/knock on. 5 minutes is a lot of time....for a good team.

It's over now.

Blues line out, sure.

They'll screw it up. I'd LOVE to be proved wrong. BUt not gonna happen.

Lost it forward. *facepalm*

How do you spell "admartian was right about NZ teams/the All Blacks"?

Horwill did exactly what Williams did at the other end and got away with it..

Exactly what I was thinking, but (assuming you're talking about being offside at the maul) the Reds had the better maul, so it was more obvious.

****ing hell I HATE being right.

Chiefs to lose tomorrow. Crusaders to maybe barely get by. It's one of those years gents. Best to just take a seat next to me on the "Give up on 2013" bus and accept it, and wait for next year.

Otherwise, you'll just be let ripping your hair out.

Idiots these players this year.

I'm sorry, have the All Blacks played this season? You need to relax. It is not the end of the world if the Blues (completely written off by most before the start of the season) lose by one point to the Reds (probably Australia's top team) :)

Probably not the best game overall, but some great defense by both sides. I do think the Blues were a bit lateral in attack, but I was impressed with their work at the breakdown. Cullum Retallick, Luke Braid, and Steven Luatua all impressed in the forwards. Weepu was pretty good, while Noakes controlled the game well from 10. Ranger was pretty good again (though handling let him down), Halai made a couple of good runs, while Piutau was impressive as usual.

The Blues will be disappointed to lose, and will want to bounce back against the Stormers next weekend.

Oh no. Two narrow loses (that were expected). The world is ending  Have you had a look at the Super Rugby table lately? New Zealand teams are under-performing, yet we still have 3 of the top 6 teams!

I would be very surprised if the Chiefs lose to the depleted Sharks side tomorrow, and I expect the Crusaders hammer the Rebels. Just relax. The world isn't ending ;)

Aren't the majority of ABs expected to step up, notn stepping up? Apart form maybe Aaron Cruden and 4 or 5 others, no one has. And even then they've only played adequately. Anyone can look good next to turd. :p

Like I said, I look at results. But I don't mind the losses; just don't look stupid by losing it when you have the chance to win or by giving it away.

*ding* That's the sound of the oven. They're done this year. :p

Many of the top AB's don't tend to start performing until the later half of the Super Rugby season. This has been the same story for about the last 10 years. In 5-6 weeks time I expect we will see the likes of Woodcock, Hore, Mealamu, Owen Franks, Nonu, Dagg etc getting closer to their top form. I can't remember a single Super Rugby season were all (or even the majority) of All Blacks were close to top form by round 11!

The likes of Carter, Read, Faumuina are all out injured, so can't really do much. Romano, Whitelock, Retallick, Cane, Weepu, Cruden, C and B Smith, Savea etc are all in very good form, while there are a pile of other players pushing for selection (Afeaki, Luatua, Braid, Piutau etc).

Almost every season someone starts panicking that New Zealand teams are losing a few games or the top AB's aren't in good form. Invariably they are wrong to panic :p

Bigtime. There's a lot we can takeaway from this game I just hope the boys shake it off & bounce back at training and realize the positives from this game bodes well for our future.

I think TRF_Darwin is Graham Henry... Anyone ever met him to prove me wrong :p

Calm down - both Chiefs and Crusaders will win reasonably comfortable tomorrow
Go have a drink man

Blues lost because of Ali Williams...he was the one that caused too many penalties. If he was taken out in the last 10 minutes, Blues could has won because REDS was panicking.

The post match interview...showing his frustration and behave like a crying baby. Look at the video again and point the finger to yourself... Just dont understand why the coaching team did not sub him out...

Totally agree this is the second game against a NZ team where the reds looked in REAL trouble in the final quarter but the NZ team lacked a clinical edge again to put them away. This team is deff not a ***le contender imo. The brumbies on the other hand with home semi and final are going to be really tough to beat.

I think there were a couple of factors in this result.

Firstly, I thought Ali Williams and Keven Mealamu were pretty average.
In saying that though, some of the ref calls were confusing at best.
Also, the Reds seemed to be offside a heck of a lot.

And (most dispoointing to me) was some of the substitutions made by Sir JK and The Blues.
Weepu, Parsons and Noakes should all have stayed on IMO. It was a bit reminiscent of Pat Lam there (and that is never a good thing)
