Suggestions/ideas for Rugby 2012

Offsides

For rugby 2012 I think if the offside rule was a bit more indepth. For example just because your player is over the offside line they shouldn't get penalised unless the game flow is disrupted by them.
Another si accedental offsides if you run into your own player or run into the maul after leaving with the ball.

Any other ideas???:huh:

Just an idea for online play, if it is an option (sorry if it has been mentioned earlier, cant say i had enough time to read through 102 pages). I was thinking that you could have say 2v2 online, where one player from each team controls the forwards, and the other player from each team controls the backs. Or perhaps 30 people, with 1 controlling each player on the paddock...ok maybe thats a bit out of it but it would still be insane haha. Imagine if each person had their own responsibilty within the team, it would sure create some realistic gameplay.

Virtual Pros, as in the FIFA games in my opinion is a must, more licenses are a must, and lots more leagues (Magners, Aviva Prem) and maybe even going down to the English National Championship. Quick tactics and a set play creator would be good, as well as an in-depth pressure situations, ie. dropping balls in World Cup final etc.

I would love to see these unlockables:

Classic Jerseys and Balls
Classic Players - maybe not entire teams but just the absolute legends of the game, my Tri-Nations list list would have to contain:

New Zealand - Sean Fitzpatrick, Colin Meads, Jonah Lomu
Australia - David Campese, George Gregan, John Eales
South Africa - Percy Montgomery, Francious Pienaar

I would also love to see "Kapa O Pango" (the alternate All Black Haka)

This may have already be suggested:
unlockable player/teams for completing the World Cup or any other tournament

e.g Complete the world cup with NZ and your able to unlock Jonah Lomu or a whole different All Black team from a different era say 1987' team
For other teams like Samoa or Fiji you can unlock players/Teams for completing the Pacific Nations Cup or World Cup

Other Suggestions:
Also a grand slam tour would and your able to set/edit how many games and also who to play against.
More attributes added to the players
Quick Search for finding players
Edit players mode: edit boots etc.

change the line outs a bit, when you play against he pc it dosnt matter where they throw it, all you have to do is jump the guy infront annd you steal the line outs which makes it a bit unrealistic. so if the comp or player w/e is to jump early make the hooker throw it out of reach oof the first jumper

and if possible have an gameplay mode where yyou create your own player, add him into a club or provincial team and work your way up to international lvl etc.
allsoooo, the chip and chase needs some work, the chip takes way to long, its the same as a high kick, the chip and chance for wingers when they're 1 vs 1 should be way quicker
if possible, also make it so that if a fast winger intercepts or makes a brake and out runs a guy, that the guy would stop chasing him. like when habana did the intercept in the super14 against the chiefs in 2009

I haven't read all posts but I think it's impossible that this game will not be realized for pc. I don't know anything about ps3 or xbox360 but every patch I've found on this site work good on my pc. I believe that the game would have more longevity with pc.
I hope it will be realized with Amlin Challenge cup and more teams and players, with a very good editor.

Abilities for Individuals

What do you guys think of this?..

Say, you had certain button combinations that only certain individuals could perform... Like their signature moves..

It would add much more excitement to the game.

Quade Coopers fancy footwork for example, only he does that sort of stuff and to use that in the game would be great. Lets say we went back to Jonah Lomu Rugby style and pressing L1 quickly followed by R1 performs a quick jink to the left and then steps to the right and vise versa[R1 then L1]. Or if we press down L3 or R3 he jumps in the air and then we could do the L1 R1 to add more variety...

Or Sonny Bill Williams' freakish offloads, lets say you could hold down the pass button and release it just before you hit the ground which results in an offload.

Stuff like this would add more to the game itself imo..

What do you guys think and who else would you like to use for their signature moves?

I think it's a good idea... If the licensed players were done in such detail that would be awesome!!!
But if not then the ability to perform certain moves (with great impact) like steps, tackle breaks and off loads should depend on the players individual stats... things like amazing side-steps would require a high level of agility, offloads would require a high level of passing and ball handling and tackle breaks and fends would require a high level of strength and ball handling...

I think it's a brilliant idea, as long as each button combination only does one thing, no matter the player. So the L3/R3 thing could be Quade (and other players that can do that) jumping in the air, but don't make it a different move for other players. So if a player can't do the jump/skip move, trying to do it will just keep him running along normally. Otherwise you'll end up getting mixed up something chronic. It'd possibly homogenise the moves slightly, but improve the control simplicity of each move.

To be honest this is pretty pointless... HB has alot on their plate just trying to get a solid rugby game together without having to make a dancing game as well
