Spring Tour:New Zealand vs Ireland - 1st Test. (09/06/2012, 08:35 GMT)

Here we go again. Let's all blame the coach

OK what's your explanation for it?

Kidney is a good motivator but he uses the same trick over and over and it's gone stale about two years ago. He was good for the tactics around 09 but he has no idea what to do now.

Leinster = European Champions and Rabo Champions + Ulster H Cup semi finalists.

Leinster one of the best teams, if not the best team, in the World.

Irish national side = Leinster + Ulster players + a few others = very poor.

Difference = COACH!!

This is a good post

"Tony - HC Finalists, thankyou very much ;)"

Do not know why I relegated you to the also rans of semi finalists!!

International Level -----> Heineken Cup------------------>Pro 12

SH Intertnational Level------------------->European International Level as Wales and Ireland have found out.

Maybe your players are not as good as you think :eek:

Is that the whole of your argument?

Ok so i'm a Wum because i don't think the Irish players are as good as you think. I see now.

How about this Club/Franshise/Provincial/Regional rugby...... DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING IN INTERNATIONAL RUGBY

Not really obviously you're one of those who buys into the who SH rugby is a million times better than anything. NH teams are at the end of an incredibly long season SH teams have had the right number of games to be match fit but not be wrecked. Also a huge number of players have commented on how the top H Cup games are often tougher than many international ones.

I'm not saying you're a WUM. I am however curious as to your reasoning that Ireland's shortcomings have nothing or little to do with Kidney.

Would I be right in saying that your entire argument is the gap between HC rugby and international rugby?

I think the Irish supports are being a little bit harsh. I thought the Irish were very competitive throughout. The scoreline was not a fair reflection of that game. I get it's frustrating to play well and lose but I don't think you can put it all on Kidney. Some of the Irish tactics didn't make much sense at all to me, especially with their kicks. I mean there is not much you can do if Savea is running straight at you.

Nope Heineken Cup is a big step down from international level. Don't delude yourself

EVEN if I follow you argument never mind agree with it, is it not your Welsh Coaching team who have made the difference in turning average performing Club/Franshise/Provincial/Regional rugby players who have not won anything at European Club/Franshise/Provincial/Regional rugby level into a fair International team?

It does make a difference. But i don't think Ireland would suddenly start winning grand slams every year and consistently beat the SH teams if Schmidt was their coach though, far from it
