Scotland vs Wales - 09/03/2013

If it were Scotland in possession then Faletau would have been pinged for not releasing.
Instead Scotland get pinged because Biggar isn't strong enough to clear out Beattie.

Scotland may have got some lucky penalties in the scrum, but Wales are getting every single 50/50 this game.

Wales will need to improve expotentially on this display to have any chance of beating England despite the extra incentive of "its those English b......."!!

The early misses of Halfpenny are makinng the Scots look better than they are and one could very well argue that England should be presented with the championship now...............cannot see the Welsh winning thta gome on this form!

I agree that Faletau could have been pinged, but Beattie clearly sealed off the ball, doesn't matter whether Biggar was strong enough or not. Beattie wasn't supporting his own weight.

Clear scrum engagment refused by Wales, and they get the penalty...

If you're talking about the scrum I think you are, Scotland went clearly early, and they have done so 4-5 times.

Edit. That's unlucky. Warburton wasn't the tackler there! The previous penalty by Tipuric was really harsh as well! Calls going Scotland's way now...

Haha, my favourite passage of play yet:

Faletau takes contact instead of passing, then Cuthbert knocks on.
Booooooop

On first half, yes Scotland entered early, but on the 2 latest, you can see Wales refusing to engage to get ref avantage

The ref hasn't started saying 'set' yet. I thought that was the clearest one yet.

Wales accomplished smt fun. They've won consecutively (starting from last year) away in each 6N stadium. Twick and Ireland last year, the remaining 3 this year (Paris, Rome, now MField...).

But besides this completely irrelevant yet fun fact, may I please extend my...sentiment on this match:

what

a

complete absolute shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhittttttttttttttyy game, dear Lord, my goodness, God have mercy, God blind me.

Absolute shytttiest 6N ever.

Thought everyone was raving after the first week, this is the greatest 6 Nations ... times have changed.

First week was great but been downhill ever since and even Martyn Williams is saying on BBC that the English are by far the best team in the championship and that Wales will have to improve a lot on this performance to beat them.

The state of this game was demonstrated by the comments that almost competely focused on Joubert rather than anything that went on or did not in the game......let us hope Ireland and France give us something to enjoy and bring back the fun of the first week!!

Bloody hell.

I agree with Inverdale, the players on both sides didn't even try to adapt their play to the refs habits. Joubert has reffed both these teams on so many occasions, they should know he's slow on the engage call and that he's ruthless on the breakdown and change accordingly to avoid the penalties

Not condoning him at all, there were some odd calls but to give him 100% of the blame is wrong and I was getting very irritated by the nonstop "oh the ref is appaling" bullshit by (on the whole) uneducated fans who seem to expect every single game to be a 40-30 point thriller.

Now, instead of being happy at another Wales win I'm all annoyed and frustrated by the same excuses by the watching public

Somewhat, but at least not towards either team in particular.

Just towards the game as a spectacle! To be fair though, the players are making it difficult for him. The amount of stupid penalties given away was just silly.

I'm sure the Welsh team will take that and move on. When the opposition gives you that many chances at the posts, you can't really do anything else but say thanks and take the points.

On a positive for Wales, Warburton and Tipuric worked well together.

It's why I haven't gone on Twitter during/after the match.
