[RWC2019][Semi-Final 2] Wales vs. South Africa (27/10/2019)

I see this game going differently than most of you, we might even run the ball at the boks not kick it too many times and please kick it to touch. navidi will be a huge lose but we will adapt and confound the Boks into making mistakes and bigger will kick his goals, going to be interesting me thinks.

You will most probably not need to MAKE us make mistakes LOL.

The Bok defence was very good against Japan last week who run the ball better than Wales, if they can't break them down with running rugby I can't see Wales doing it considering how poor they have been so far with the ball.

I'd imagine Gats and co will have something up their sleeve. They'll be all too aware we cannot have another display like France otherwise we'll be on the plane home.

I'm quietly confident. I just hope that Willie and Faf get going.

Any update on Bongi? Will Willemse play? Should Nkosi start? If it's tight then will Steyn come on and pull of a Jannie De Beer for the drop goals?

So many questions, bring on Sunday already!

no news yet on any injuries, which I think is a good thing.

Proudfoot mentioned that they might go for the 6/2 split again on the bench.

I think we'll have the same 23 as against Japan

I think it's a shame that this semi final is on Sunday. The winner of the other semi final will have an extra day to prepare for the final. In professional rugby, these small margins could make a difference.

Particularly when those two teams who get an extra day, also had an extra week before their Quarter Finals. It is no coincidence that all three Quarter Finalists who had a week off looked phenomenal this past weekend.

I don't think Wales will mind playing the Boks. So long as they keep within a score they will hang in and fancy their chances in the closing stages. With a combination of injuries and bruised bodies there's also the potnetial the Boks could outmuscle and steam role the Welsh.

Expect a big shift from the Welsh pack this weekend, Robin McBryde's mother passed today and he is putting his personal grief aside to finish the job he has started. That sort of sacrifice and commitment 'should' act as the perfect inspiration/motivation for his forwards to put it all on the line on Sunday. I hope the Welsh 8 (& their replacements) reward the McBryde family for this.

Yes! Please kick into touch! Our lineout is terrible...

I'm confident for this game. I think SA will just use our power game to bully the bruised Welsh team. 1st half we will probably just kick everything but i expect the same from the Japan game where our "Bomb Squad" will finish off the game in the last 20min. Hopefully Le Roux has a much better game.

Rassie is almost certainly going to keep the same lineup for all knockout stages regardless of form because it's past the point now to meddle in selections. The only changes will be injury forced. We might see movement from the bench but I'm sure the match day 23 is selecting itself now.

I don't know much about this Welsh team but I can imagine they'll try and get the ball behind our forwards as much as possible and live off any mistakes that come from the aerial battle. Cross kicks will also be valuable as that is pretty much the only way Japan were able to make breaks. I think the Welsh will be able to execute these more effectively with Biggar.

I see Beast was not cited and there is no word on injuries so i'm assuming the same 23 will play this weekend

Instagram reports indicate we might have a new lock pairing for this game with a former Springbok lock going straight into the starting lineup being a last minute addition to the squad

Kolbe hasn't trained and is nursing that ankle. Hopefully he comes right. Nkosi is a more than adequate replacement though.

Kolbe trained yesterday, Light work, but he trained. But seems like the Boks are a bit tight-lipped as to who will play this weekend until they announce the team. Loved that snippet of Rassie training with the team at lineouts. Good to see him being so hands on.
