RWC Quarter Final: All Blacks - Argentina (09-10-2011, 20:30)

z

zzzz i'm sorry Sam, but you appear to regurgitating the same old tired nonsense. Even when I clearly explained my stance PAGES ago

I'm off to bed, so you have your last word.
Sorry I won't be here to read it mate, but i'm sure I can have a make a rough estimation.

Yeah go to sleep son lol. Everyone here knows that the All Blacks were interested. Thats a insult to the Pumas saying the All Blacks won without ever being interested in the game.

Work on your vocab mate.

Man we were poor. Superb defence from the pumas, hats off to their guys they gave it heaps.

Cruden looked better than Slade it has to be said. Slade was rubbish once again he has to go even if he recovers from his injury. In saying that Cruden was hardly inspiring though was he. My worst nightmares are coming true; Carter injured, getting knocked out by Aus.

Congrats to the Wallabies, you're into the final.

What are you on?

Cruden was putting guys in space, great support player, made the defensive line work hard!!!
He did much better than Slade, Slade was damn amateur.

Baha! Slade was injured after what 4 or 5 minutes?

You evidently have some sort of off the field relationship with Cruden so I won't kick up too much of a fuss. The point was that he wasn't the knight in shining armour (to use one of a better analogy) that most were making him out to be. He didn't run the backline with any authority because the backline was a mess anyway.

Nonu was playing first reciever most of the night which pretty much sums up the technical side of the performance.

Of course Argentina should be proud, they made us look average at times.
We still won by 23points though, that's a hiding in anyone's books
On paper, perhaps - anyone who watched he game would know that Argentina didn't get a hiding though

Hope Cruden starts against Australia next weekend.......he played awesome last time he started for NZ against oz. :p Almost single handedly lost the game for the allblacks. lucky Slade came on and turned it around for the allblacks in that game.
Still.....cant be any worse then Quade Cooper

Let it go mate it's pretty easy to see what he meant; we didn't seem to be as up for it as we have been in past games. I'm sure they were interested, but they didn't start the game as intensely as they have in past games.

but the way the pumas play is phisical i dont think OZ suit that game and there defence isnt as good

Slightly disappointing performance but I think the end score was fair. We were easily the better team on the night but Argentina did well to hand in there. Personally, I thought the yellow card was harsh but then again I say that about every yellow card given away. Personally, I thought Cruden was woeful. His handling and passing was terrible. Some of the option taking was terrible - like Piri's kick for Cruden or when Toeava kicked with SBW outside him. Overall, it was not a terrible performance. We just did not look particularly clinical at finishing the moves off but the set piece was particularly good.

So yeah, we did not play that well and have to step it up next week. Then again so too do Australia. If we win the world cup I ain't going to remember one disappointing performance against Argentina.

You weren't watching the game mate. Slade's passing was loopy and slow, at least Cruden's passing was flat and sharp.

Cruden is a much better player than he was this time last year.

Slade got injured after 15mins, he was crap before, and after. I hope his injury is about a 4 weeker tbh

Argentina played well, we played ok. We were definitely the better team, if they hadn't been illegally slowing our ball down so much we would have put 50 on them.

Yeah I thought before the game the All Blacks would win by 20+ but it wasnt a dominating performance from the ABs by a long shot. The credit goes to the Pumas for that, they played as if their lives depended on it. It was a good game.

Nice, thats all I wanted the dodger to admit. Spot on.

Weird QF's if you ask me. The NH teams scoring more tries and the SH teams winning ugly, what's going on in the world

.

I rate Cruden but dont think he's quite ready to step in especially at such short notice. NZ dropped him cold after that bad game against Oz and ran with Slade ever since despite Slades injury plagued season at the highlanders. Cruden will be ok coming off the bench but NZ's best bet is to use Weepu at 5/8 or send an SOS to nick evans or maybe tony brown even.

haha have some faith in the all blacks.

When was that? Over a year ago? Cruden is a much better player now, and it seems like Slade is a much worse player now so let's not base next weeks selection on a game played that long ago.

Compairing test level footy with provincial footy is a lop-sided approach to say the least. Cruden did nothing more in this game than what Slade would have. I'll say again, I don't believe he took any control over his backline because it was a shambles.

Time will tell. If he takes the game against Aussie then I'll eat my words. My point was that he's no cut above Slade as what most were proclaiming before the WC.
