Premiership Rugby 19/20 - Rd 14

Wasps' backs looking slick, 2 scrums one a try and one a 90m break, both from well-executed strike moves.

Northampton defenders are biting too early, need to hold off more.

Edit: make that 3 scrums 2 tries, although there was no move there, literally just Minozzi winning a 1 on 1

Now all it needs to do is bucket down to complete my clowning.

Some nice play from Wasps, impressive given the break.

Feel bad for Dingwall, he's had two poor passes open him up with Feikitoa bearing down

What do we think of the Fekitoa tackle?

For me high arm over the shoulder so pen. But either he hits him high with force... red or very high on the chest with force...good tackle, why is it a yellow? What am i missing? What is the mitigation as he wasnt low when tackled?

The commentator just mentioned the 8 nations championship coming up in November. What the hell is that?

In place of the Autumn internationals, it's the 6n sides + Fiji & Japan, two groups of 4 - play your group mates once then play against the team in the other group in the same position as you

Can't wait until they ban scrums completely, they're such a mess

Short term measure: replace resets with yellow cards and penalties with red cards

Yellow seems fair... point of contact on chest (nobody was hurt), arm definitely went up and over shoulder but don't think there was force in that part/low degree of danger. Also a dip by ball carrier after jump.

Dickson best ref of the weekend so far IMO.

*Did anyone catch Launchbury getting his head stamped on? Not sure it was intentional. In the play just before Dickson reviewed the tackle.

I used to love scrums but agree now, it's boring, slow and the dominant scrum doesn't even get rewarded it's pure pot luck.

I'm not enjoying this saints performance at all.

Call time off rugby league style for starters and wave back on when ball in/out; that way we get more game time and less inclination for teams to time waste.

Then we can look at sorting the setting of scrum which is main issue IMO. Watching the 2003 world cup final the time taken to set scrums is significantly shorter.

Wonder how Austin Healey still has a job, seems everyone hates him including his co-commentators.

Oh Brad shields is playing...forgot he was still around tbh.

Also Jack Willis needs to be around the England setup. Especially if EJ keeps Curry at 8.

I think in general rugby is starting to look wrong. I think they need to enforce a prop replacement can play both sides, half the number of subs and make refs stop the constant breaks the players sneak in all the time. Might as well be American football when they take so long to restart the game.

I hope to high heavens that curry doesn't stay at 8. I'm not looking forward to some more stupid selection choices by Eddie.

I think you maybe need to be a bit lenient on the breaks issue. These guys are not going to be fully match fit yet, even if they have been training. It'll take a few games to get conditioning right. On top they are looking at a very congested schedule even after this season finishes, so you can't blame them for taking a rest when they can.

Can Willis play 8?
Just on body type he looks more suited there than curry (though realistically I want dombrandt there)

I haven't watched the quins game yet but not picking Dombranbt for England just seems mental. Natural rugby players is something England had been missing so I'm all for getting more of them in the squad.
