This season is, perhaps, last chance for Brady to walk away with a ring. Strange, but I nearly want it to happen. Winning SB I mean, not walking away))

can't believe hernandez has done this, the guy had soooo much talent (loved the mic picking up the opponent's 'what, now you're a running back?' comment in one game.)

Away from the insanity, going to love seeing how Welker links up with 18 this year, Bronco's definitely have a shot at the bowl if 18 stay's fit, they're accumulating so many options for him, and I think this is the year Tamme will show his full worth.

Makes it easier for him as he's in the AFC West.

I think the Dolphins can really make a run for it in the East, don't think the Jets will be anything significant. Buffalo's got a good chance too. But you can never write off the Pats - not while Brady/Bill are still there.

I hope so, been a Fins fan since the 80's (when I went to a game whilst on holiday - the Marino days :) )

Have to say I'm a huge 18 fan though, as his ability to run a game is the best I've ever seen, so Colts were my 2nd team (now broncos) but have so many teams I like in the NFL (apart from the Steelers. I'll never support the steelers! :p )

And it seems Tebow will is training alot at TE and Special Teams - Oh the Patriots will be interesting to watch

Good man! :D

Very interesting. He'd do well at that I reckon. Maybe not be a deep pass catching threat, but more of a chain mover, gadget play type of guy.

Thing about Tebow is he is a superb athlete who I think could adapt and the Patriots have superb set-up to help retrain him but hell if nothing else he'll make it fun

I can't see Tebow being a hit at TE, he's about 4 or so inches too short. Even with Brady throwing to him

Think he could make it as a TE, but I feel he will be one of these that they could even give a go at RB or FB.

Really hard to call on Tebow. There's no doubt that he's talented, but the question is - at what?
He's a semi-decent QB passer (by NFL standards), a semi-decent QB runner. But when you compare him to someone like SuperCam, he's not even playing the same game.
I hope that he does discover the game that suits him, as it'd be a terrible talent to waste.

That would be better than Romo, he'd throw it straight into the oppositions hands

Please don't remind me of Romo. Literally still can't forgive him for that field goal fumble against the Seahawks all those years ago.

The strongest, most powerful, fastest, heaviest guys in the NFL will be faster, heavier, stronger... than those in rugby.
It's simply a matter of fitness/appropriate conditioning.

The cardio and endurance requirements of rugby players limits how big they can be, and thus their top end "measurables".
NFL players have minimal cardio/endurance requirements in comparison, therefore can pretty much get as big/fast/strong as they can.

You then factor in that the NFL is drawing it's athletes from a much bigger pool of players, and therefore a lot more athletic freaks, and those athletic extremes are bumped up further.
And that many positions are far more reliant on athletic ability so less players are ruled out by a lack of particular skills.

I would say that the general level of conditioning in professional rugby could/should be a lot better than it currently is.
You look at a lot of guys, and hear the numbers they put up in the gym or in sprints or whatever, and they really aren't very impressive a lot of the time.
There are some phenomenal athletes in rugby, but equally there are a lot that are far below their potential.
It's a cultural thing more than anything from what I can tell, the USA has a very well developed strength and conditioning culture/industry in comparison to the countries in which rugby is a major sport.

Isn't that kind of what is good about a sport like rugby? That it isn't a purely physical sport? In the NFL I'm almost convinced that all you need for certain positions is the requisite athleticism, you don't even need much time learning (I see Daniel Adongo just got signed for the Colts) whereas in rugby there are a whole lot of nuances that can't be measured or picked up in a hurry.
