Looks like one time bust JeMarcus Russell has landed a trial with the Chicago Bears.

^I was sweating the reports that the Ravens were interested.

Just. Say. NO!

I'd gamble on him. Surprised that the Cowboys have not gone looking at him.

Don't really have more than a passing interest in NFL but just wondering after seeing him meeting up with the Ireland squad.

Is JJ Watt good? Bit of a random question I know, I'm prepared to look stupid if he's some superstar. Ii know so many of the players are incredible athletes but 6'5" and 134kg of what looks like mostly muscle is ridiculous and there's this:

Good?

Probably one of the most versatile defenders (D-line) in the NFL right now.

I know its early but I've been looking at potential fantasy leagues we could set a TRF one up. The main 2 are the nfl.com one or nfluk.com. The NFL one wont have any issues in terms of location but for people who don't know much about how it works it can get confusing. The nfluk one is much easier to set up but we may have issues with location of participants.

Just as well we have time to work it all out

Put me down for both and be sure to let us know. :D

NFL UK is the best one I feel for everyone as the NFL.com/Fantasy needs people available to draft live. However I wouldn't say no to NFL.com/Fantasy

NFL Fantasy are quick flex:

There are three types of drafts available to choose from. Select your draft type based on what fits your league and teams best.
  • Live Online Draft

If your league wants to select a single draft date and time for all owners to participate in an interactive Live Online Draft, this is the best option. Note that owners who are unable to participate live can still pre-rank players and NFL.comwill make picks based on player ranks and positional analysis.
  • Autopick Draft

If your league wants to draft teams based on NFL.com's default rankings or a manager's pre-rankings, this is the best option. Once the League Manager initiates the Autopick draft, results should be posted within one day.
  • Offline Draft

If your league conducts its own offline draft and wants to enter the results at a later date, this is the best option. The League Manager(s) will use the Offline Draft Tool in the League Manager Tool section to enter draft results.

So would need to know a draft date and a suitable time. Same goes for how many people are interested. Minimum needed is 4 players. So talk to me lads if we are keen.

I like live drafts; but understand that not many/any can make them.

I guess if we're needing players we can always co-erce non-forumers if need be?

EDIT:

Kiss the Ring :D

Agreed.

So I will get it setup with either 6-8 members and set a draft date on a Sunday in August.

The american footballers are bigger than rugby players? Because, for example:

Haloti Ngata (Baltimore Ravens) - Height: 6ft 4 in (1.93 m) and Weight: 340 lb (154 kg)

I don't know any international rugby player has those numbers. The heavier rugby players I know are Ben Tameifuna (Chiefs - New Zealanda) and Mako Vunipola (Saracens - England)

Ben Tameifuna - Height: 1.82 m (5 ft 11 1/2 in) and Weight: 140 kg (22 st 1 lb)

Mako Vunipola - Height: 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in) and Weight: 130 kg (20 st 7 lb)

I think there's a reason for that. Most NFL players (save for freaks like Haloti and JJ watt, Adrian Peterson, etc) are built just/mainly for explosive burts instead of a FULL 80 min performance. Therefore, they can sacrifice stamina and sustenance of such, for size and explosive bursts.

In saying that, I think the above guys I mentioned, would have little issue transferring games over to Rugby. Especially league.

American Football should go metric. 10yds should be changed to 9m. Then the pitch-length is 108m.
Or, adding only 1m to the end zones. Then the pitch-length is 110m.

How did I guess.....................

Tebow is a Patriot. Has Belichick lost his marbles? Although it means Tebow will again link with Josh McDaniels and has one of the all time greats to learn from.
Head scratcher as well.

But if anyone is going to try and turn him into a QB; it might actually be the Pats. Also reunites with Hernandez.

Ngata converted from rugby to American Football!

Tebow thing is quite an interesting thing. Pats have a new weapon and now can push for two pointers and add the Wildcat into it.

No way he takes reps away from Brady. At best, they'll be on the same time.

I think they'll actually give a good go at developing him.

They might do on 4th Downs and 2 point conversions.
