"USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! "
I don't know who loves themselves more, Americans or Aussies. Match made in heaven those two countries! :p
Argentines love themselves more. We're the best!

Yawn!

Love how Goodell got booed when he first came out. Then he started saying that the NFL was thinking of those affected by recent events, people booed and then mentions Boston ... everyone begins to cheer and shout USA USA USA ... etc.

Stayed up till 2am this morning before having to get up for work at 7am. Mayock knows his stuff, not a suprise he predicted so many things correctly.

I enjoyed the draft. I've never watched one before and wasn't 100% clued up of how it all worked. I liked the intrigue and excitement that came with the time between picks, especially when teams traded up or down to get someone elses pick.

Slightly anti climactic when it was the Patriots turn, all geared up for another Boston segment then Minnesota say "we'll take this pick lads".

Hopefully I can find a stream of round 2 (off the record: if you have one or know of one DM me or summat :p ) to watch tonight

Manti Te'o - Chargers
Geno Smith - Jets (that should be fun, Bye Sanchez)
Menelik Watson - Oakland

Bet Geno is actually gutted going to the Jets. Ryan hasn't been able to develop a QB there despite the talent. Cracking move for Teo to the Charges, having such a large Polynesian community there will help him settle in quickly. Good pickup for the Raiders in Watson. Still two Brits left on the board. Hopefully they will get picked up.

The more you look at it the more Smith to the Jets is a double edged sword. If he goes there and does well then he'll be the darling of the entire city, yet as soon as he was drafted people were heaping pressure on him by effectively making him starter (and they start against the Patriots too). The key is that he isn't the finished article as a QB unlike last years crop.

Tebow was cut by the Jets earlier today ... roll on Tebowmania again.

^ Apparently he's seen as only a backup.

That's like telling STephen Donald he may have a shot at my club rugby team...

Not going to be a starter anywhere he goes, and no Canadian team throws any player straight into the starting lineup until they get used to the different rules and style of the Canadian code(not sure if Tebow would fit in, but it looks like he'd be given a chance which is more than the Jets did). Once you can't make it in the NFL there aren't a lot of options for gridiron players, the small UFL in the States is a mess and will likely go bankrupt. The arena league is an option but the game is fairly different and pay is no better than CFL in fact probably worse.

Edit: Also Montreal's QB, while 41 years old is possibly the best QB the league has ever had(though I would argue Warren Moon and Doug Flutie were better) and the salaries for top players in the CFL are still six figures(The Montreal QB is probably in the 350-400,000 a year range), a huge comedown from NFL but not like Stephen Donald playing for beers at your local club.

I can see Tebow aiming to move positions really, no NFL team bar potentially the Eagles would give a crack on him.. and the Eagles don't need to now with Barkley and they have Vick who can play the read option & throw the ball. So yeah I can see him signing with a NFL team as a practice player potentially for a bit in the attempt to move to HB/FB/TE as his skills are more suited there. To put it simply he isn't a NFL standard QB unless he sorts out his throwing motion which will take time.

I have heard so many rumors/ideas about what Tebow will do next. I've heard CFL, I've heard a new team as a QB, I've heard a change of position to TE. I suspect one more team will want to at least try him as a QB, he was showing signs at Denver, the Jets f****ed him over 'cos thats what the Jets do.

If a team takes a punt at him at QB he'll be a backup at most to start with a few snaps here and there but more than at the jets, needs momentum etc. At least until he gets his throwing motion in order to be reasonably capable when it comes to sitting back in the pocket. Which is why he should've stayed at Denver if possible. Learn under manning a bit and Elway and got his throwing sorted as they were planning (at least Elway was helping Tebow then) until the trade to the Jets happened.

Oh deffo, far better off staying at Denver, all things going well he may have been getting a Ring this coming season. Time is on his side, I think teams need to treat this a la the Rodgers @ Green Bay, spend a few years learning from a QB God before making the step up. Now, I am not saying Tebow is as good/will be as good as AR but I think its the best thing for him.

Yeah, he needs a few years learning and working on throwing as I've said 3 times now before I think he'll be seen as a serious starter. To compare him to another Running QB (but who can throw aswell) RG3 & a not so much of a runner Luck. Both are Rookies the last year as his starts etc are around the same as them. Not inc pla

Starts, Completion %, Throwing TD, INT's, Throwing yards, Running attempts, Running Yards, Running TD's (not aligned but same order)
Tebow: 16, 47.9, 17, 9, 2422, 197, 989, 12
RG3 : 15, 65.6, 20, 5, 3200 , 120, 815, 7
Luck : 16, 50, 23, 18, 4374, 62, 255, 5

His throwing stats over 3 years (including as a "sub") are worse than rookies, his running game what he's known for has almost been matched by RG3 in a year. Cam Newton has destroyed him in both running yards and passing yards (has had an additional 16 games).

But yeah Overall I agree basically get at a team with a good QB to learn from and you never know 3-4 years time he may be a good starter for a NFL team, as it stands though the stats speak for them self.

Sorry mate - wasn't havong a go at the CFL - mainly making the point that no one and their brother's dogs are wwanting Tebow (as a QB anyway). :0

I can see him as an H-back type of player. BUt if a team actually decided to worl on his thorwing motion/mechanics 9someone like Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy, Jon Gruden, Jim Zorn etc) he might actually be a halfway decent QB because of all his intangibles and will.

But all people/coaches saw was the distraction off the field (media circus). Which is probably the biggest reason why Denver didn't want him and decided to draft Osweiler early last year (meaning , they need aed a backup QB, but not one that would distract the team again and have Peyton).

lol pretty much. At least with offensive players.

More to the whole draft, Jets, Smith saga(?). Geno Smith has fired his agents after he fell to such a low draft point.

This sorta **** annoys me with athletes. The 2nd round is still high - and you'd have to be a dumbass to realise this year wasn't a QB-needy draft.

Plus it's not like rookie/1st round contracts are big anymore. They're all scaled- so we know their cap figures and salaraies as soon as they're drafted pretty much.

I felt for him when he dropped; but this stunt (and the one of him leaving the room/building during the 1st round) just puts me off now. Prima-****ing-donna already talking playoffs.

It's not how you get there, it's how you perform. Look at BRady, Romo, Kurt Warner etc. SMH

It's supposed to get a retractable roof. BUt I doubt they open it up, ever, or not very much.

Can't have Matt Ryan throwing outdoors in real, cold/hot weather like the AFC North, NFC NOrth, AFC East, AFC South (except the COlts) do! :p
