Well, Owens is a better ref than Barnes and always has been and always will be, the majority of the world thinks so too, only selective English fans think Barnes is any good.

First half to blame really and that was England's own doing.

Second half Nigel Owens reffed England out the game.

Scotland good for the win overall, well done. Fans booing Jones rightfully complimenting them is pretty poor form.

First 40 we (England) were just off the pace and Scotland took advantage with some great stuff.

Second half I think the shifts in momentum from the Launchbury penalty (weird), the Farrel try (clearly a knock-on) as well as Owens not giving us the rub of the green, and us constantly giving away needless and silly penalties really killed us off.

Well done Scotland. You turned a potential banana skin into a right old mess for us.

im not sure how you can suggest a referee that's Calibre of Owens is biased that's just plain nonsense , absolute rubbish to suggest it was because of 2 weeks ago . You need to take a minute to reflect on the game , maybe rewatch most of the decisions were just ! Yes there was marginal calls but this is rugby , England were dominated at the breakdown by a superior Scottish pack that was the reason you lost .. get on with it

Not me personally pal I wasn't aggrieved by the try/nontry debacle that took place 2 weeks ago and admitted it wouldn't of made a difference but you keep justifying how Owens is biased !

Nah Barnes actually refs NZ, NZ fans just think that because all the other refs (Bar the french ones) let them get away with everything.

If you are admitting or suggesting that "Barnes refs NZ" then you are admitting or suggesting that he is biased.

NO referee should ever be refereeing "teams", they referee "matches". Who the teams are does not matter. Barnes is no different to any other international referee in that matter, he is just as good as Owens.

Barnes is vastly improved since the game you NZers love to refer to and imo has cemented himself in the top 3 refs in the world

No i'm admitting that he actually refs NZ instead of giving them the usual free pass. That is no indication of me saying or suggesting he is biased more that other refs tend to be easier on them.

and to referee a game you have to referee the teams.

Huw Jones and Finn Russell will get the plaudits but I thought Stuart McInally and John Barclay were absolutely immense today. Likewise Gilchrist and Jonny Gray. Scotland's bench has been an issue in the past but Denton & Nel brought a lot when they came on.

Hard lines to England but I'm sure they'll bounce back and get a win in Paris taking it to the last week. Should be an exciting finale.

The Launchbury penalty I feel aggrivied about he called it fine (it wasnt but Ive seen plenty of refs let players get away with that ****) but only called it a penalty once Care was 30 yards away. Im not keen to see that kind retrospective refereeing crop up in the game.

The Russell knock on was also a terrible call. I don't give a damn who's refing the game but that's a deliberate knock on and in that situation a YC in virtually every game of rugby I've watched for the last 10 years.

There was when Care quite clearly got blocked from making a pass by an offside player and Ownes waved it on.

There was the penalty at the end when Nige I insisted he was on his feet when his knee were on the ground.


Now I dont think we lost because of Owens but all of these instances are a sign a poor reffing performance and it should acknowledged as a shocker. I'd rather we didn't spend then next two weeks talking about it.

I agree with those points, and I do think Owens hasn't been as good as previously. However my issue is that it wouldn't change the game, and especially after last week when the shoe was on the other foot against Wales, it does make us look very hypocritical and poor losers. Luckily there wasn't one big incident that England can call World Rugby up about and then distract the press with, unlike Howler did.

Again, you're wrong. Last week Wales were on the wrong side of the TMO, not the ref. In fact, the ref favoured Wales.
