[Natwest 6 Nations] Round 3 : Scotland Vs England 24/02/2018 16:45

I was going to start this post with sorry, but that's such an English thing to do. Can English fans pull their heads out of their arses and stop focusing on the ref to try and cover our abysmal performance. All you're doing is justifying view that we are arrogant and poor losers. We lost and a different ref would not have changed that.

Stop being a moron and reading one post then. Many posters have clearly said that Scotland deserved the win.

If you're in Edinburgh, naff off and enjoy yourself.

Except every England fan on here said we were ****

Us being **** doesn't excuse the absolute incompetence of "This is not soccer" Owens

I could have picked some others, but I'll pick this one. My issue is that even though you say England played **** (go stars) you focus on the wrong thing, which is that instead of thinking about where we were weak and how we can improve, you try to shift the focus onto Owens.

Yes Nigel Owens made mistakes, but this loss has been coming for a while and most fans have acknowledged that. But instead of moaning about the ref, let's focus on how England can improve and what the issues are.

Having said that, we are a random bunch of fans and nobody in the England set up is likely to read this, so moan about Nigel Owens all you want.

See above and stop being a moron by pretending to take the high ground, but still fill the thread with crap posts about how Barnes is better than Owens. (Though maybe that's just Tigs Man)

Prob because the Ref has no accountability.

England players will be shouted at by Eddie and Eddie will be shouted at by the press it's a cycle that happens in sport.

Nige will still be the Darling of World rugby refs despite being crap for some time now. But he gives good sound bites.

So whilst I hate focusing in the ref and it was not the reason why England lost. I will point out with the Wales match they were aggrieved by one decision the English are aggrieved by an overall performance.

That said I've said Owens was **** he was ****. It will always be a **** ref performance in my book.

Both be no desire to mull over it fro.the two weeks we have real issues to address as a side.

I'll think you'll find we were taking the ****.

I don't disagree that Owens isn't as good as some people make him out to be, but too many posts I've read have tried shift the focus onto his performance rather than England's, and that is what is irritating me. As for the posts, mainly your post where you replaced two girls heads with Barnes and Owens.

Stopped reading here because you're just flat out wrong.
We've discussed at length the issues with the England side and our style of play.

Ok i lied I read the rest.
This just shows even more now little you know about the situation before having a go at people,
I said we'd lose this game and I tipped us to finish third or fourth in the tournament.

Smashed at the breakdown until Underhill came on, I Like Robshaw but not at 7, surprised EJ's playing him there seen as he didn't rate him at 7 before he took the job, fair play to Scotland when Russell brings his 'A' game they turn up, the only thing I'll take from the game is hopefully it highlighted certain issue's which have now been exposed and should hopefully be rectified...

Jones must end the Lawes at 6 and Robshaw 7 experiment, our back row is just too slow and because our forwards don't go into contact with support, we keep being isolated. I still can't work out why everyone is fanned out about 5m behind the guy who is only going to run a crash line? Why do we have nobody running a support line? If we aren't going to play a mobile back row then we need support there before contact.

Owens isn't the ref he used to be ... he made mistakes... who'd have thought a ref was human. I hate this football mentality of moaning about the ref. We lost because we were , As always, **** at the breakdown. And we were complacent. Robshaw at 6. A real 7. The attitude we showed in the last 20 for 80 mins. England win however well Scotland play.

Spot on ! It's easy to feel aggrieved and blame the ref when you've lost , rugby referring can be such a subjective game at the best of times some penalise certain things others don't and there are always marginal decisions it's the nature of the game I think they even themselves out throughout the tournament . I think it's easy to blame Owens because he's welsh and it only fair we take a stake in England losing I suppose but to be honest he's a decent official not the best in the world but decent .

Only a handful of England players really emerged from that performance with any credit really. Robshaw's workrate stood out, Hughes and Mako carried well. We lost a lot of go forward once they were off. Used to think Hughes was a bit of a flat track bully, but he has improved a lot at international level. Underhill made a big difference (yellow card aside). Anyone else baffled by the fact that we looked a lot better with Wigglesworth? It feels wrong to say, but he improved us today. Watson got an extended run at 15 and was pretty bad under the high balls. A massive shame.

Scotland were the better team in that first half by a country mile, and that was the difference. Huw Jones, take a bow, best player on the park tonight for me. Though Barclay was immense as well. The Scottish intensity was fantastic and we never really recovered.

Nige was awful. Just so bad, but realistically Scotland would have won that game with a better ref. The incident with Care's intercept was embarrassing though. Tell Launchbury to move. Launchbury moves. Signal all is good. Scotland play ball. Care intercepts. Give penalty against Launchbury. You really do wonder what was going through his head. Still, he is usually good. Everyone has bag games. This was one of his.

Changes I would like to see:
Underhill to start at 7, with Robshaw at 6.
George to start (Not gonna happen I know).
Try someone new at 9. Robson really deserves it, but Townsend and Maunder are promising at Exeter and looked good in summer.
Watson at 15 again, he proved he can do it for the Lions, so he deserves another go and Nowell needs to be on the pitch. He looks good.
Launchbury and Lawes in the row, Itoje to bench. He seems to have lost his mojo a bit.

Generalising, so you're the moron. Jeez, in Edinburgh and on a forum. When we I'm in Paris in two weeks, I won't be wasting time on here.

It was the inconsistency that did it for me, he let Scotland get away with a lot more and pinged England quickly.

Didn't alter the result though.
