"Russell was very impressive at times today, always looking to create something. He loves to run with the ball and showed that, taking the game to the French. He needs to learn to play it safer though, missing touch late on in the game piled more unnecessary pressure on the Scots and he needs to unleash Dunbar and Bennett outside of him, who looked good tonight, making some dangerous breaks that unfortunately didn't end in scores... It is tough to choose a stand out player from this match, and whilst Lopez played well he wasn't the best fly half out there, let alone the best player. It was captain Thierry Dusautoir who wins my vote for man of the match because of his work rate out there and the way he led his team to victory, although the Scottish defence was the highlight to take away from this game, not conceding any tries in Paris. If they can work harder at the breakdown, which will be easier against an opposition without Thierry, then they can unleash their impressive backs."

More than the good Scottish defense, I would point out the awful French attack ... But not very surprising with our actual coach ... Everybody down here is expecting a bad 6N and the same for the RWC ...

I'll ask you one question would you prefer to concede no tries against the French or win the game????????????????

Scots defence was impressive, closed down any French attempt at offence. But besides being muscled around the pitch by the forwards, the Scots just gave away penalties again and again. Perfect display of how you can stand firm all day long, yet still hand the win to the opposition. Once again people are talking about finding the positives and improvements in the Scottish game. I wouldn't mind seeing a bl**dy win at this point....

I'll be impressed by Scotland when people aren't writing about losing by a score to a team playing badly as though it's impressive.

considering their wacking last season by Wales, under Vern Cotter there is plenty of improvement for Scotland and they look like a team capable of winning a coupe of games this season which will put them in a good position come the World Cup. Yes France did not play well but won that is most important factor. I personally do not think they will do anything great until we rid ourselves of PSA and his band of merry muppets. so looking for that all exciting away win could only possibly come from the Italy game, to win in Ireland or England would need more than luck it would need a bloody miracle!!!!!!! not even sure whether Italy is on the cards having lost the last couple of times.
